a real picture stifles a false message

Oh, how fun it was to come home and not only have comments to read but some great posts by people I follow to read as well! I'm getting used to this whole blogging thing :) I had a great time at the cabin and hope to share a few pictures of it when I'm not so tired. So for tonight, I decided that all I could muster was this picture of Kim Kardashian.

Editor's Note: I tend to start my blogs later in the evening, thus I complain about being tired, thus I sound rather boring always groaning "Ohhh, I'm soooo tired...". Which is not the case! I assure you I can be quite energetic most of the time!
(Above photo found here - to see Photos looped together to see TRUE changes - look here)

I suppose I should say "pictures" as there are clearly two of them. These were posted in March 2009 at Complex Online for a piece Miss Kardashian posed for for their site. The unphotoshopped picture (Left) was accidentally posted online for a small amount of time before they realized the mistake and swapped it with the photoshopped one (Right). In the world of the Internet however, the damage had been done and numerous gossip sites ran the photos alongside one another, much like I'm doing.

However, my point is not to berate her (she's still gorgeous thigh -dimples and all!) but instead, I thought her response on her official blog deserved some merit:

"...You know what, who cares! ... So what: I have a little cellulite. What curvy girl doesn't!? ... I'm proud of my body and my curves and this picture coming out is probably helpful for everyone to see that just because I am on the cover of a magazine doesn't mean I'm perfect...."

Very well said Kim. Nice to have a little reminder that in the world of glitz and glam (which I certainly drool over), there's a little bit of embellishment going on.
Til' tomorrow... Sweet Dreams!

Wow - quite a bit of difference between the two, and I agree, her reply was great!
Glad you are enjoying blog-land too, and thanks for your comments on my blog. I should read the book too, they are always so much more in-depth than the movies. I actually didn't even know it was based on a book before I watched the movie!
Cheers,

Blogging can be so addictive haha!

I think her reply is great, who cares? It's her own body, she should embrace her curves:)

i remember seeing this and just rolling my eyes. kim is gorgeous no matter what. i blame the mag execs and society for feeling the need to hide imperfections when to me imperfections are relateable. kudos to kim for that quote.

Yeah, in a way it's probably good this was released, because there are still so many out there who think the photoshopped images of stars, celebrities and models are real. I think the same thing happened to Jessica Alba sometime last year (though no cellulte... they just made her even slimmer, although she actually looked better curvier).

This is a great post! I think Kim still looks great in the pre-air brush photo and I love her response even more. It's true...who cares?? This incident definitely sheds some light into the not-so-perfect world of the rich and fabulous. It goes to show that they're still human after all:) Go, Kim!
