Tea & Crumpets: Jocie's Bridal Shower

So it's been a week since the Bridal Shower but as you noticed... my posts have slowed as of lately.

If you often read my blog- you probably are wondering why I don't shut the h*ll up about how busy I am lately. But if you are new... here's the rundown. I just always feel the need to remind everyone I do like to blog more than this and will return soon!

Thus, I'm going to walk you through a picture post of the Bridal Shower I threw my Sister on March 28th, 2010.

{Beautiful flowers we had everywhere}

After much thought about a venue and the fact that I'd never thrown one of these before, I decided to have it at my Dad's house where I could take as much time as I wanted the night before making sure it was all ready to go (like a good procrastinator oughta').

The Bridesmaids and I thought long and hard (that's what she said) about what we wanted the theme to be and we decided that it would be best to mimic an afternoon tea lunch.

We had a beautiful beverage bar where we served...

Fine teas...

{Oh, how I love tea}

as well as Coffee and all the tea & coffee fixins'

And because every good brunch has a delightful spirit, we had Bellinis, Mimosas and delightful Champagne & peach schnapps drinks.

{Berries for the alcohol drinks}

In additon to the drinks, we had a plethora of gorgeous food.

Fingerless sandwiches, gourmet salads, handmade quiches and beautiful, yummy cookies. All made between the bridesmaids and Mother of the Bride (hint: one of the Bridesmaids is a Chef...).

We were quite happy with the set up we had going on at my Dad's house.

Then it was time for the usual games, laughs, gift-giving and showering of the Bride-to-be:

The room was kind of packed and my only dislike was that we had to bring in a lot of random chairs. Not as elegant as I had hoped but it ain't no thang.

Finally after the shower was over and I could stop and take a second to breathe, I got a few pictures with my Sister out on my Dad's back porch.

{I don't think I could look creepier than I do on the pic on the Right!}

I very much loved my Shower dress and guess where it was from? Target of all places. I literally walked by it on my way out of the store with a cart full of place settings for the Shower. I had been eying a Banana Republic one but that was quickly vetoed in lieu of one less errand to run and just as cute for cheaper.

{
Sold! to the stressed out Maid-of-Honor :)}

All in all, it was a lovely, lovely day and I'm so glad it went well.

Though this was before I got my hair done and I'm hating how faded the color looks in these pictures.

PS- What did I do the day before the shower?
Spent the day helping my Sister move.

{Helping my Sister move the day before her Shower. Because I now do everything for my Sister.}
Sigh- my Sister rules my life these days :) JK Jocie.

Special thank you to my Parentals for all their help lately.

As is the new norm- I will write when I can!
Less than a week until the wedding! Eeeee!

Wow! how did you fid time to do such a fantastic post. In the third pic of the link "rundown", the street view lookesd a little like parts of Manhattan's upper East side, though you're from Portland, right? Those bridal shower pictures are great and the food looks so good I'd like to jump right into the picture to eat it. I like that same Nestle's creamer with my coffee. You're a beautiful Maid of Honor.

Thank you so much for your comments and questions! on the sixth most recent video post of seven posts on my other new over 18) blog which you stumbled on over at Full Brief Panties Male Modeled. I have made an attempt at answering your honest questions. Is there any chance you could share at, say, a bachelorette party for fashion related entertainment?
