Fridays are best with short dresses & rooftops + new hair.

So when my work week is busier than Santa on Christmas Eve... I like to spend my lunch breaks with a little bit of me time. I like to go somewhere where I can move around, please my eyes and feed my hunger for beauty.

And that's American Apparel. I flippin' love this store. I don't know if it's the half-naked people selling clothes or the awesome ugliness of half of the items... but I just love it. Most of the clothes I find to be insanely weird which makes it all the more fun to try them on and figure out what I like... and what I don't. Either way, I spend an hour NOT thinking about working and playing dress-up in a store. Solid lunch break to me. Here's a few items that tickled my fancy on my Friday lunch break....

Above: Multi-Layered reversible Petticoat. $70. Too cute! Though I think I would have been too tempted to just wear it as a skirt. That "top" you see is my work slip.

Above: The Cotton Spandex Bandeau Pencil Dress. $41. One dress- infinite options.

And because it was a Friday and almost my birthday... I treated myself to... dum dum dum...

The Jersey dress because I'm a sucker for short, white & scanty for a Friday night (in clothes, not men).
Plus, I figured it would be awesome to layer with caridgans, jeans and/or leggings in the fall.

{I dig a white shirt and a black bra}

So on the night before getting all dirty fishing and tubing, I went downtown to a very trendy rooftop club to spend a night with The Boy, my best friend, her visiting boyfriend and her brother & company. It was fabulous and a great way to forget my busy workweek.

{The View from Departure Club in downtown PDX}

{Shanin, Me, The Boy and Jonny catching up for drinks}

{Sometimes The Boy poses a weeeee bit too hard at the end of the night, gulp! ha!}

So with the cabin and the club... my weekend was a success.

As for my Monday??? The work day sucked but as promised... I got new hair tonight!

Hippie no more!

Happy Tuesday!

That sounds like an awesome use of a lunch break. I love AA but I think some of the clothes are just unwearable! But, thanks your lovely modeling, I think I NEED that petticoat in my life. And that pencil dress looks so versatile! I want!

Oh and your new hair is purrrty. Love it!

Sounds like a fun night out, and love the hair!

so...what do the AA staffers think is going on in those dressing rooms? All they hear is click click that you rocked the pencil dress in multiple ways while in the store. funny funny girl. can't wait to see the new locks in person!

That sounds like a lot of fun trying on the outfits at American Apparel - so much so that it tempts me to take a break from being a recluse and try to get away with doing that myself. i love that Multi-Layered Reversible Petticoat, and i'd wear it as a skirt! You look fantastic in all of those outfits (and in every photo in the post for that matter). Love the facial expression in that last pic next to the "Happy Tuesday!".

LOL at "in clothes, not men"!! I like to add such similar ending when I happen to describe the coffee I like (for example, I always order "tall Americano" at Starbucks LOL) Another cool thing about this post is that when looking at your pics in all of those AA dresses I realized I really loved that tank dress on you and was very delighted to find it went home with you!! :)

P.S. As of right now, there's not much prettiness at our dacha as the main house is under construction, so there's lots of crap everywhere lol So yeah, no pics :) And on Jersey Shore... I've never seen a single episode so have no idea what you're talkign about! LOL! :)

And yes, the segway exp was def one of the most ridic of my life...towards the end, my friend Jen said, "I have never in my life made THIS much of a spectacle of myself" LOL.
