So I've been thinking lately about my pictures. I take, on average, about 1,000 pictures a month. It's true- my camera is with me wherever I go and I am always snapping away. Obviously, with that many pictures- there are doomed to be some ugly ones that I don't post online. Furthermore, with the constant photo-tagging by friends on Facebook of pictures you don't necessarily like- everyone has become familiar with an unflattering image of themselves.
Through this, I have concluded 2 things.
Through this, I have concluded 2 things.
- No one cares about a bad picture as much as you think.
- An ugly picture of you is something that you can easily move on from.
I have decided that it would be wise to keep myself in check and start a little series (for as long as I have interest in it) called "Unflattering Picture Sunday".
Kicking off my segment- here's my unflattering photo for today's Sunday.
What's up: My guy friends and me at my 24th birthday party in 2008. I look... smart....
Stay tuned for next week's fugly image!
Happy Sunday!

LOL @ this topic...too funny! You are right though, nobody cares about an unflattering photo of someone else. However, I have been known to "untag" many a time :)
This is a fun idea, Caitlin!!! :) I so agree with the following, btw - "No one cares about a bad picture as much as you think"! Plus, what you consider unflattering might look totally okay to others, and, it's actually possible for the situation to get backwards - like you might think it's a good picture of you, yet someone may notice you look unnatural and it ruins the picture or something. Happened to me at least once and ever since I actually believe people I trust on such remarks! lol
You look good in even the photos you consider unflattering. i shudder to think how unflattering some of the photos of me would look if people had taken that many photos. The one i haven't posted are bad enough. Yours are great. Love your "unflattering" photo.
I love it! There are so many unflattering pictures of me out there that I want to delete or burn, but I like your attitude! It looks like you're having fun in that picture and that's all that matters!
you are awesome! best sunday photo idea ever!
Lol too funny.
That is so funny!! I give you big props for putting that pic up!! Cheers to you! :-)
..I love this post and that is unique and great idea , something opposite all the airbrushing stuff ..it would be even good idea for a web site ..
..and I so agree with those 2 points ..like today we had some family snaps with my bf family , you know the family picture , all the girls was like - no , not me , I will take a snap etc ..but actually who cares that the hair is not perfect bla bla bla : )
..but I had experience when somebody from family put my 1 day after labour picture in internet and that wasn't nice at all , I mean it's very personal and it's hard time for the women to go through anyway ..
..but all the rest of pictures are fun : )
p.s
I would not call that picture unflattering ..you look cute ; )
hahahaha Caitlin, you seriously ROCK!! This is such a funny/fun idea for Sundays, and I hope you stick with it. I always think the blog post ideas you come up with are so clever!
haha. it may not be the best photo of you out but i bet it brings back great memories, it definately shows you were enjoying yourself ;)

hahaha you are crazy girl. and interested time for this pic to go live, could have sworn you were elsewhere at this moment ;-)
LOL!! You are too funny! So true, no one really cares about a bad pic:) I dunno why some people are so OA (overacting haha!) with this topic. I knew someone who cried (?!) over a bad pic some friends saw, but she actually looked fine in the pic lol Anyway, awesome series! Btw, so not an unflattering pic:P You look cute!

Cool photo. I'm sure you were having a great time.
you are a brave soul. you don't how many times i am tagged on the most heinous pictures of me. i would never be ballsy enough to display them.
Haha, love this idea!! And I have to agree with you. I don't think you look bad in this pic, just having a laugh with the friends. I really like your openness so much!

Aww, haha, this is a funny idea. I still think you look good. Its so true that no one else ever thinks you look as bad as you.
I love this kind of very smart looking photos! I'm always the one who looks worst :)
Haha great!
Haha, "smart". Awesome. There are plenty of awful photos of me that I've untagged, and yet I always feel so vain doing it. I kind of want to embrace the awful photos...maybe I should take a page out of your book and do it. Love this and you!!!
This is the best blog feature I have heard of in a long time!
