{Goodbye Summer}
I had a couple beautiful summer events that I meant to blog about but never got around to. So here's a crash course to two of my most beloved Summer activities.
Brew Fest:
In Portland, the last weekend in July hosts the Oregon Brewer's Festival. Think what you want about Oregon but we have some of THE best brews in the country. The 4 day brew fest on our downtown waterfront is huge, full of beer and SO.MUCH.FUN. Every year, I go to the festivals with my friend Miranda. We have grown to have a general love for such events and now it has sort of become our "thing". The festival runs Thursday- Sunday but because I am a mere mortal, I can only stomach Thursday & Saturday without being in serious pain. So the Thursday of the weekend is a lovely way to spend an evening after a long day of work.
{Above & Below: The Thursday night brew fest}
In contrast - the big event is Saturday where the entire city rallies
to get drunk in support of Oregon Brews. This year my best festing buddy and I decided that regular clothes would not do and on the way to the festival we stopped for matching outfits. Call it what you want to call it- it was a fun day!
Annual Rafting Trip:
And of course, my FAVORITE event of the Summer is the annual rafting trip in the desert of Maupin, Oregon. I go every single year of my life to spend 4 days of rafting, rodeo, tents, cookouts, beer, etc. It's my favorite weekend ever in the history of evers (or something ELSE that makes sense). And don't get it twisted by my blogs about clothes... I am a tough girl who loves activities likes this. In fact, this is the second year in a row that I've captained one of our rafts (we have a large, large group).

And with that, my sheets are washed of another beautiful and fleeting good time. Thank you summer 2010... it was one to remember.
So come hither Autumn, I'm ready to lie with all of your sensuality and beauty.
{Welcome Fall}
It's officially Autumn.
Hellllllo Handsome.

A girl needs closure for unfinished business - YES!!
You always have the most fun, Caitlin! I love the matching outfits - it can be so much fun, actually (contrary to the popular belief that such thing can ruin a girl's life - definately not mine lol) Hammocks are heaven indeed!! And the scenery there is just fantastic!
It looks like a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing these photos with us. Hope you're having a great week.
It sounds like you had an incredible summer! I love the matching outfits and I think it's AWESOME that you're both a girly-girl AND an outdoorsy girl (most of us can't do both at the same time!) - AND that you look amazing without make-up on!

There goes another season shot in the butt. At least i got to enjoy the photos of you enjoying it. Since i haven't had a drink for decades i can't quite get with the mood in some photos but still love seeing you having fun out with the girls. You look so cute! i concur with Leia's comment... awesome.

hahaha before you lead fall up to your room. you're hilar. let the record state: those twin outfits were your idea, and i should have just gone with the full on dirndl. can't promise that next year i'll be down, but i'll sure keep it in mind. haha xoxo. when's the next fest?!

Wow..what a way to say goodbye :)
Actually boys love summers too as they can see the girls in bright n short clothes ;)..Anyway, your pink loose apparel picture is oooo la laa...I loved it. TAke Care, CHEERS!!

Looks like you had a lot more of an exciting summer than I did!!
Love that American Apparel outfit!!
I seriously love that picture of you in the hammock - you are the cutest thing ever! And yayay for fall - finally it has arrived!! :)
Your summer sounds AWESOME, mostly the beer and outdoorsy parts! A girl after my own heart :)
I wish it were actually autumn here in Phoenix...it's still A HUNDRED FREAKING DEGREES HERE. Ugh.
I am not happy about summer being over (your pictures did NOT help! Looks like so much fun!) however, if I MUST say goodbye, then no better way to do it then to say hello to autumn, which I love!
(you'd be proud of me, I bought some riding boots to go with my new fancy riding pants! SO cute!)
Love your green bikini! Looks like a blast! :) and yes hello fall!
Your blog makes me want to move to Oregon Caitlin!!! Haha. I think i've told you that before :)
That brew fest looks like a lot of fun. I have actually heard that Portland is like the number 2 best beer city in America (San Diego is #1).
I wish they had a cocktail fest or a martini fest. I'd soo be there.
Love your pics from the rafting trip, I want to do that sometime!
Ummmm, yeah. A brew fest is MY kinda fest. Can't wait for Oktoberfest in Tampa!
Looks like you had fun! Oregon is so beautiful. I have a cousin who lives in Portland, if I ever come visit her we'll have to meet up for drinks :)
Thanks for sending summer off with a big bang. The time of the river must have been a blast--I haven't been rafting in years...
All in all, you've had a great summer! No wonder it's hard to say goodbye:)
I love the outfit of the last pic...

Summer was so fun but went by way too fast! I have to admit that I'm looking forward to fall too! Even though today it's greeting us with rain and wind. I love the change of clothes and cozy atmosphere! Happy Autumn!
