Dye Hair, Save the Sprit.

So last week was my second highlight treatment since I went oh so dark Fall of 2009 and stayed oh so dark. Up until now, I have spent all of 2010 a brunette and even spent the last few months with black hair. And now... I am so excited to be heading back to the blonde side of town.

I did my hair math (the only kind of math I like) and believe that I will look like a good-ol' fashion blonde by February instead of a brunette with blonde highlights as I look like now. I want that golden, fake tone soon but because I enjoy non-organic, chemical hair dye (lasts longer) that my hairdresser has, I do it in smaller doses so my hair doesn't die. However, I'm supa-supa ready to head into 2011 leaving the dark hair behind. Don't get me wrong, dark hair has always done me right... I'm just over it for about a year. Really over it.

The other night at my girls' xmas party we all gave toasts. Mine in part included my gratefulness for hair dye. My friends instantly laughed about the seemingly trivial addition to my toast but I stand by it (so shut up you beezies). It's a simple joy in my life much like a morning coffee or a good book.

So I'm becoming less of a Veronica and becoming more of a Betty and I just can't wait for that- though sorry Betty, I'll still be sticking with heels in lieu of sneakers.

What is your favorite hair color on you?

I love changes :) Best of luck with changing your hair color yet again!

I've been only using very safe hair dye lately (Goldwell Elumen, if you're wondering), and I love it. And even though it doesn't quite allow me to go from black to blonde just like that (not that I would - I don't think blonde is for me although I am curious as to how it would look on me) I'm actually quite surprised at how many color options it allows for once there's no strong dyes left in your hair, if what I'm saying makes any sense? I can still go a shade or two lighter easily and can definately go super dark and I love their shade variations - you can have brown hair with golden undertone, brown hair with violet undertone, brown hair with red undertone, green undertone... lol Whatever your heart desires! And the hair shines better than in hair products TV commercials, for real. Can you tell I'm head over heels in love with my hair dye? LOL I promise I don't get paid to promote them although I would gladly accept such an offer from them haha

I haven't experimented very much with hair color! I think with my skin tone, you can look very fake if you go too light. I had red streaks in my teens which was fun, but when they faded to orangey-blonde and went crispy dry it wasn't very much fun anymore, haha! I've also experimented with henna, which gives my hair a subtle red tint in the sun ... but really, I enjoy my natural color the most :) Can't wait to see the new blonde you!

Love the new look!! I've been a blonde for awhile and love it. I went dark about 5 years ago and was a fan of it at the time, but when I look at pictures, I absolutely love being a blonde more:)

Oh how exciting that you are going back to blonde. I can't wait to see what it looks like! You really suit both though. I love hair dye as well, as you might be able to tell from my white hair! haha. xo

I love going to the salon, nothing wrong with being thankful for hair dye :) Ive been in serious trouble ever since one of my best friends started doing hair - even more of an excuse to go the salon now!

I think you will look stunning blond!
When I met my wife, she was brown/auburny color. Then she went really dark auburn, which I loved. Then went darker and darker until black.

Now I always hinted that she should try blond, and she blatantly refused, and said she doesnt like blond.
Only, I had planted a little seed, and I watered it on the sly, :) and here and there she started asking friends and family what they thought, should she go blond, and the majority said yes!!. November, she started going blond, but just like you, she is taking the long route, right now she is back to light red brown with high lights, and somewhere in January she will hopefully be completely blond.... Yay... I love blond, although to me she is beautiful no matter what color.

I scrolled down your blog, but could not find an answer, have you heard anything about the job application. I read your post on your bf, and I was wondering what you guys would so if you get the job....

Anyway, hope your week is going well, take care.

Colin.

HeHe, I automatically thought of that book 'Are you a Jackie or a Marilyn?' when I saw your comparison pic hehe. Personally I'm happy with my natural hair coloe now, which is UNHEARD of for me, but it's been natural for over a year now. It just seems to be suiting my skin tone and over all coloring. You can pull off both colors beautifully =)

OK, it's pretty obvious that you can pull off ANY hair color, but I think I'm liking this go-lighter Caitlin!!
