Don't be ridiculous Harry, I'm wearing my glasses!

Johnny Depp. Tina Fey. Justin Timberlake. Woody Allen. Sarah Palin. Hillary Duff. John Lennon. Norman Rockwell. John Colbert. Bill Gates. Kieran Culkin. Alyssa Milano. Caitlin.

Yes, my pals and gals, I have joined the elite ranks of the Four-Eyes club. After a few months of paining myself at the gym to watch the TV, squinting and most likely on accident giving people bad looks from far away and struggling to read my flight information on airport reader boards- I decided it was time to grab some glasses.

I have had glasses before but they they were low-level prescriptions meant to ease eye strain after eye surgery. My experience in the last week was really, my first step into the permanent world of eye wear. After an hour-long eye screening last week to confirm my belief that my eye sight had diminished in quality, I went to the Mall after work on Friday to get my new lenses.

But what was I thinking riding solo? Within 20 minutes, the salesgirl was acting as my boyfriend/best friend/Sister/Brother/Parent... she had to give me her input on everything because there's almost too many options to choose from. However, after a grueling hour and a half, my salesgirl best friend and I had narrowed it down to three styles of frames. And praise be the technology Gods because I was able to send the three options to my family and friends for their last-minute input.

These were the finalists:

{I was freaking out about which one to get- after texting my friend Miranda all three she cooly responded- "Did you just send me the same picture 3 times??"}

Though I liked all, I went with the slimmest one- decadent Burberry, unisex eyewear: sleek, regal and not too bad to sport all day. So ta-dah, feast your eyes on my new investment in my vision:

{I call them my Charlotte York glasses for a reason!}

All in all, I'm trying to get used to them and familiarize myself with the hardware on my face but I can see everything at work and night driving has become 500% clearer. And as for being bummed about this rite of passage into older age? What can you do- such is life.

PS- I have watched Sandlot 10 times this week, I'm watching it right now. I don't know what's wrong with me It's probably just because of For-Ev-Ver or Benny "You're Killing me Smalls" or Benny the dog just wanting to play or Benny the reminder of youth or Benny Benny Benny Benny Benny Benny Benny Benny Benny Benny... hmm, I can't figure it out but I just don't seem to be tiring of it... :)

my fave is the dkny one. i'm a four-eyed girl, too! i have frames that are similar to the dkny, only it's brown. i'd have to agree with you that pdx has the best local events. it's one of the things i love about this city. sandlot, i've never seen it but my co-worker loaned me the dvd like two months ago insisting that i watch it. okay, maybe sometime this week i will. :)

I freaking LOVE them! As i saw the pic with three different pairs, i was gonna leave a message saying 'go with the burberry!', but then i noticed you did! Either way, they are so adorable!

Admittedly, I had a hard time distinguishing between your top three contestants, but you look adorable and if we're being honest, I'm a little jealous. I've never needed glasses, but they look so . . . chic!

I wear Burberry glasses :) Those look VERY similar to mine, except mine are a reddish/pink color. Something like that. Dont feel bad, I had to start wearing them at 6 lol.

now that the photos are biggie sized i can tell a little bit better hahaha but in my miniature blackberry screen i voted for option 1 or 3, and i'm quite the fan of your final choice! and i'm officially inspired to get some fake glasses, and wear my hair in a bun someday soon. ;-)

Haha, I also thought this was the smae picture that you made a triple!! After looking closely, I realized the Burberries were a little slimmer and I liked them the most so I was happy to read that's what you ended up getting, yay! Congrats on the greta purchase.

P.S. I still can't see any difference between options 1 and 2 though!!! Must be the pictures...

Good pic! I've donned the glasses/contacts since middle school. I love have they instantly change a look...in a good way :)
