Crowning the Princess at 3 AM

Update on the "Simple Goals" post I did last week. My main issue is that two of my ideas had to do with buying clothes, which I'm not doing until April, and so the combat boots and the maxi skirts are still on the back burner and won't be purchased until after Easter... however, I am still lustfully yearning for them (even online searching them in the darkness of the night- creepin' on my fashion obsessions).

But... update on the "Pretty, Pretty Princess" front! This goal was to do something special for the Royal Wedding. As I am an employed lady, my first step was naturally to secure April 29th as PTO. Requested and GRANTED, I now officially have the day off (so nice to be accomplishing my goals).

Second hurdle came from my Sister after I texted her the news. As I've mentioned, her husband is British and his family is all still there, so naturally, she's very familiar with the time change... something I didn't even consider.

"Hey, I got your text about April 29th. Do you realize the time difference?"

"Um, I don't know, it's a day event, I guess I didn't really think about it."

"It's a day event for the UK... the wedding begins at 11 am, that's 3am our time."

Oh, crap.

Good news
: I will have alllll day to sleep off my late night Royal Wedding watching antics.
Bad News:
Getting people to watch it with me at that unsavory hour!

However, I have set my sights on two of my friends: Miranda and Megan

{Left to Right: Caitlin, Miranda, Megan}

Miranda: Because she loves to do anything that is different from the normal activities. She has the best ideas to break our entertainment monotony, always. I feel like I could convince her to join me for this royal soiree merely because she's never watched a Princess wed before. And Megan: Because she loves Kate Middleton and I believe, would like to watch the wedding and take it all in

[Editor's Note: I definitely need Miranda with Megan as Megan has a ferocious history of falling asleep during movies.]

So Lady Loves, this be my public declaration- please take off April 29th and join me for some William, Kate, Champagne, Gowns, Tea... and crumpets.
How about you? Any plans for the Wedding yet? What about those of you actually in England- what are your plans???

I remember my Mom saying when Diana and Charles got married it was in the middle of the night here, but I guess I figured it would be broadcast later this time with all the technology advances? I'm sure it'll be live too of course, so I'll want to be up in the middle of the night to watch it. Oh well, I'm a night owl so I guess it won't matter :)

I would totally stay up all night to watch the wedding with you! I actually had no plans to watch it, but you've made it sound like such fun that I just might have to. I think it'll start at around 4 pm here so I'll be able to watch it without suffering the sleepy consequences! :)

Great post! Even though Hubs thinks it is silly that everyone is making such a big deal about the Royal Wedding, I would love to have a party that night! I would make lots of yummy food w/ cute names like "Kate's Crumpets" and "Royally Posh Punch", etc.

OH wow, booking the day off, that is commitment! I'll probably tivo it and watch it with some wine when I don't have to be up too early. Good idea to take the day off, you better do a wedding day-of post!

So like two days ago I was just thinking about how little I care about this wedding...and how tired I was of all the hype...and THEN, yesterday, I was reading a blog entry someone had written about Kate Middleton...and I couldn't help but be more intruiged by her. So...I decided I DID care about this, even if I didn't know much about it! I totally had no idea it was coming up so soon though LOL!

Well, anyways, if I was in Oregon, I'd totally watch with you!

I feel strange now... People seem to talk about that wedding a lot and I don't even ahve any slight idea of when it's taking place lol

Anyways, yay for accomplishing goals! Whatever these goals are, it sure feels good!

I'm back from my vacation and it also feels a bit weird trying to get back into the swing of things... I'm so behind on all things blogospehere - having no regular internet access makes things not so easy when you come back! lol

I will be watching. Does not matter what time. I love all things Royal. My parents were married around the same time as Charles and Di, and my mom was preggo with me at the same time as Di was with Wills. I feel a kinship. Haha. I am a total dork!
