The Russian, the Canadian, the Australian... and the American

I'm in love, I'm in love and I don't care who knows it.

I'm in love with YOU.

Yes, YOU.

Blogging has brought so much joy to my life. I love writing (poorly or properly depending on the wine mood). I love interacting with people in different parts of the world and those right in my city. I love your fabulous, Bay area life. I love looking at your outfits. I love your mad design skills. I love you showing me what I have to look forward to when I move to my beloved, adopted homeland, Chicago. love hearing about your cross-country move. I love your thoughts on your diet. I love your cultured wardrobe. I love the things you say even if I disagree. I love your new puppy. I love hearing about your wedding. Your bad day recaps. Your little Rugrats. Your thoughts on crime. I just love Blogging with you.

For instance, late in 2009, I stumbled upon a Blog written by a Russian girl. I was instantly attracted to "The Thank You Project" as the author, Julia, had embarked on a journey to find something to be thankful for every day for a year. I seriously couldn't get enough of her posts- she made me think differently about my world.
That was then and here we are today almost 2 years later and we still have blog interactions regularly. When she was podcast on an Australian radio channel due to her drive to 'be thankful', I poured a glass of Pinot Noir and listened to it on my computer. I value what she has to say.

So when she noted that an American Magazine, Real Simple, that she didn't have access to included a question she posed in her Blog- I went on a search party to get a hold of it. Thanks to my Stepmom, I have it in my possession and was so excited to find her response (above). The pleasure in seeing my little online friend in print and knowing how excited she was to be there made ME more excited. So congratulations Julia and I will email you this weekend to inquire about how to give you the hard copy :)
That brings me to my little Canadian, Britt of My Daily Randomness. I was ecstatic when I won her giveaway and even more ecstatic when the contributing artist, Michelle Chang, sent me my goodies!

I love it, so much! Thank you, I can't wait to wear it.

And then of course... my last (but never least) international buddy, the Australian Rinniez of Momentary Lapse of Reality, cracked me up last week when I logged into her page to find a very sweet post about me. As undeserving as I was of this, she totally made my week with the picture she posted of us:
Bahahah. I love it. And Miranda, though a bit saddened, found a lot of joy in it too.

That's just a tiny glimpse of why I love my Blog and connecting with such wonderful people. So again, the pleasure is all mine and thank you, thank you, thank you for being in my life. I wish I could do an all-encompassing post about you all.

Why do you like to Blog?

Awww, what a fun post to read! My very favorite thing about blogging is the friendships I've made. I think I've met 6 bloggers in real life now, and a few of them have become some of my closest friends in the world. I never would have believed that could happen before I started blogging!

I've also just learned so much--I love the little glimpses into the lives of people I feel like I know deeply--and I like having a record of my life, too!

This is an amazing post! Meeting people and the interactions are the BEST part! There are some "internet" friends that I talk to more than my real life friends! Looks like you have some incredible people in your life too!

PS. That picture is hilarious! Poor Miranda ;)

When I started blogging, I didn't imagine it would feel like I get to "meet' so many people, but it definitely does and I love that :)

this is probably my fav post of yours of all time! and rinniez cracked me UPPPP with that photo LOL!

blogging is such a special world for sure and lately i have been so uninspired and unmotivated with things, but it really is everyone i am friends with on here that keeps me motivated to go. i often talk to my boyfriend about you guys and i say "my friends..." and he always responds with "my gosh you have friends all over the place". but it's true...i feel like i know people on here better than some of my real life friends...and i have some really good friends in real life ;-)

im very thankful to have met you and i love reading your blog...you definitely keep me inspired more than you know :)

Awwwww what a wonderful post Caitlin! I am honoured to be mentioned as "The Canadian!" :)

I think the blogging world is such an influential, inspiring and motivating place! It's amazing to think how many connections I have made with hundreds of wonderful people from across the world. I will always have mad love for my blogging buddies!

P.S. Glad you like the necklace! Michelle is a very, very talented artist!

Awe, thanks for linking up to my blog. :) I think it's great that you acknowledge the connections you've made through blogging; it has definitely opened up a whole different world for me. And I love the Be Thankful thing...There are certainly days where I seem to only focus on the negatives and take for granted all of the positives. Good for you to help your blogger friend get a copy of the magazine. Have a good rest of the week!

It is incredible the way the blogging world can bring people from all over the world together. I find that the interactions I have with fellow bloggers is one of my primary reasons for blogging - I love meeting new people, and forming friendships with people all over the world. The second, of course, is to share my likes and dislikes and to bond with those who share similar interests.

Honestly, without blogging, I have no clue where I would be today.

P.S. Your comment from yesterday totally made my day. Love it! :)

I so think you can make connections with people, even on blogs without meeting them! There's something you have in common, with just wanting to get whatever's in your head down on the blog; a great form of expression. I'm glad I got to meet you through blogging, I think we'd get along great in real life=) Who knows, maybe one day we can meet up! Oregan DOES have amazing wine =)

I hope one day to develop as many diverse friendships as you have! It would be amazing to have such connections. I blog because I love to write and because I need to get it all out of me. It would me awesome to meet people that share the same passion!

I really do love this post. You're an inspiration and I'm so glad I stumbled upon your page!

Oh for so many reasons! I love blogging mostly because of all the wonderful friends I've made. I love hearing about y'all's lives. I love all the inspiration I get from reading about other people.

Blogging helps me vocalize what I'm thinking or feeling. Y'all make me laugh when I'm feeling down. I could go on and on.

aw love it - what a great little post and linking to each person for the reasons listed is great.

Blogging is so my creative release since I'm more 9-5 and I just don't know what I'd do without it. Greating the feedback makes all the difference.

Thanks for the blog luv and mention Miss Caitlin.

I'll have to twist your arm for a guest post on one of the crime cases that you follow--I know you'd have lots of interesting things to say.

I started blogging for selfish reasons, but wow how my eyes were opened.

A while back, I wrote a post on the inspirational story on Judith Sleavin, an American who was the sole survivor of a horrible boat crash off the coast of New Zealand. Judith lost her family due to the accident and it took years to find the truth as to why the other boat involved fled the scene and offered no assistance to her drowing family.

Anyway, a regular reader who lives in Australia, visited New Zealand and found Ms. Sleavin's craft shop (she lives there now). He bought a copy of her book, had Ms. Sleavin sign it with a personal message, and then mailed it to me back in the States.

The post that describes it is here:
A Special Blogging Experience.

Needless to say, I was speechless at the generous gift.

Keep up the good work here, and thanks again.

I love this post Cait! I am sure all of your readers are thinking the same thing about you. Thankful. :) And you are a fabulous writer - ALWAYS. I can't wait to continue reading about your adventures in Portland and hopefully one day in Chicago. Have I told you, you should write a book? Please.

I love blogging. I've met a lot of wonderful people throughout this experience. It's amazing what blogging has done for us. There are a lot of amazing people online it's nice that we all got to stumble upon those good people :)

I know I blog because it gives me a sense of relaxation. I blog because there's nothing else that's wonderful than sharing my world with someone else out there. :)

I am coming up on 6 months and it has been the fastest and most enjoyable 6 months of my life! I enjoy meeting people, like yourself, reading different styles of writing, and also learning. I've learned so much from blogs, photography, fashion, make-up, cooking, baking, it's impressive how so many people are so knowledgeable, and have something to say!

love this post! i started to blog because i love to write but then i realized that documenting the dailies isn't exactly where i wanted to go. of course, there are five million things and ideas that i write about and i never really have a blogger's block because my mind is always acting like the energizer bunny. i usually don't blog when i get busy, lazy and just cause! LOL

meeting friends, finding things in common and gaining a new perspective are just the icing on top of the cake called blogging! it's such an amazing experience (boo to those who try to ruin it for those of us who just want to have fun!)
