walk a mile in my screwy shoes

If there's one thing in this entire world that I suck at, it's getting the tips replaced on the heels of my shoes. I NEVER do it. This mainly due to the fact that I never think about it until after I leave my apartment and head off somewhere. It's always a beautiful moment when I realize that whatever errand I'm running will be scored by the soothing sound of screws grinding into the pavement because I'm yet again in need of shoe repair. Dub to the T.

So please help a girl out who has no clue!:
How often do you replace the tips of your shoes?
Where do you go to do it?
How much do you spend?

Oh- and HAPPY Friday. Looking forward to the How the Glitz Stole Christmas Gift Swap post on Monday!

Wait...you're supposed to replace the tips of your shoes? Gah! I'll be honest, this is the first time I've heard this. :/

P.S. That picture of you is the absolute cutest! :)

I do it at this little place on NW 21st ave next to O'Brian's and Silver Dollar. They do a good job!

Oo I'm totally guilty of this, that metal grinding on pavement noise is the worst! I don't think I've ever replaced the tips, but I HAVE replaced the heels on a pair of flat boots I wore to death and it was like getting a brand new pair of boots. Toootally worth it.

My father owns his own shoes repair shop and dry cleaning. If there are two things in life that I'm on top of, it's those!

Plus, if I neglect my shoes, I get in trouble. He thinks having a daughter with A class shoes is the best advertising. lol

Sorry I can't help you in the shoe repair department Caitlin. But I finally decided to follow you when I read about your hair extensions and actually found it interesting. How does that happen? :)

You know, for me it all depends on the season, the kind of shoe, how much I wear a certain pair and how good both the original and replaced tips are. I always take a close look at them when I buy a new pair of shoes. Sometimes it's only one wear and then I need to replace them immediately, but some tend to stay perfectly in place for a whole season. But generally, the thinner the heel the more frequent the change of tip is. Ih and it really pays off to opt for the most expensive tip your shoe repair offers. Metal ones last longer, but I dunno, I hate the sound of them so I never use those.

P.S. Oh, and if the original tip is really bad I try to replace them even before I wear the shoes for the first time.

Also, I've read that comment of yours about your holiday mailing and posting :) I just forget to address it! lol THANK YOU! :)

Okay, so I LUV shoes.. and I take pride in taking care of them and keep some in their boxes. That's besides the point.

So, when I need to repain the heel tip, I take them to my local shoe repair --my guys only charges $5 for each pair. Which reminds me I have two pairs that need major attention. Hope this help!

wait, say what? You are supposed to get the tips replaced on the heels of your shoes? I have never done that before. However, I don't wear my heels nearly enough to get the tips replaced. Maybe after an adults only trip to Vegas but my shoes are usually so torn apart by then I just throw them away haha!

and um can we talk about how HOT you look in that black ensemble? Smoking!
