I think I might be done with the black hair. After a few months with it, come February- I think it's time to lighten it back up a bit. Change. So excited for change.

Though I blog, I don't usually bare my soul on here (or on any other online forum). Don't like to air my laundry in that way plus I have a great fear of being seen as emo if I ever were to do so. But for this short little post to make sense, I have to stick my toe in the emo pool and tell you the end of 2011 wasn't my favorite time... in fact, I hated it. I was struggling with some stuff that I'm working my way out of now. I stopped working out (and I work out all the time) which is about the worse thing you can do when you have the blues. Just one step after another into further ... sadness, for lack of a better term.

But it's a new year. With new goals. I'm so excited to move and begin that new venture. I'm so excited for 2012 and all that is in store (you have no idea!)- the mapping out of my year right now has Vegas, Chicago, NYC and Hawaii on the agenda (though I think I will have to cut out one of those trips... we shall see). I've started working out again and already feel better than I did a week ago. And I'm going to be taking Photography and Belly Dancing courses in February and March-which excites me beyond comprehension. I've missed honing hobbies.

These are the things I needed. Change. I really needed Change.

Hair dye may seem like a manifestation of vanity to many. But to me, it's indicative of a better mindset.

With that said, the black hair is on a ticking clock. Time to lighten up my life.

I hope you are able to take all 4 trips, because I want to see pictures! Hawaii is my dream vacation, so I hope it stays on the list! I hear you about needing some changes and I hope they all work out the way you want them too. Happy 2012!!!

Change is good for the soul. And you rock it in lighter hair (though you're gorg in dark hair, as well) so go for it. I can't wait to see!

P.S. I LOVE your blue nail polish story! :)

You don't sound Emo at sound human! When LLS and I broke up towards the end of the summer, I went from red head to black hair again. Althought I'm back to red, hair change is the best way to get back into the groove.

P.S. A NYC trip...let me know! I live in the suburbs right outside of the city. If you need any suggestions, just ask!!

Naw you don't sound emo! It's totally relatable, we all have low points in our lives! I always change my hair style/colour when I feel like I need a change/ pick me up - I think it kind of signifies healing 'cause you're letting go of the old colour and starting new.
Cheesy but it has always helped me!

Sorry I haven't been commenting lately. I did notice your pretty eye makeup in a prior post I'd been feeling down and only today managed a post. Then in my reader I noticed a blog post by Stephanie Grace titled "Today, statistically, should be CRAP!". I guess the time of year is hard for a lot of people emotionally.

Maybe I should start working out myself (gradually).

I love your hair dark, but it always looks pretty no matter how you colour it. The trips sound nice even to think about.

You have ambitious goals. Hope all goes well and you have a healthy happy 2012.

I know the feeling and sometimes we just need to work on making things better for ourselves. I do hope that 2012 becomes amazing for you and things work out the way you want it to. It usually does when you start working on yourself :)

you look beautiful with dark hair, but yes changes are good sometimes! also belly dancing courses sound amazing.

Change is good. Sometimes we all go through some down times. Its called life. I totally need to go back to working out on a regular basis because when I did I was in a better mood and more positive. I like reading emo writing.

yaaayyy for change!! i am so with you of not airing out personal things on the blog or other online avenues. i work through those in private! lol it is indeed hard to get back to working out. so thankful to our drier november and december that i've kept my momentum. i usually take a three month hiatus then start back up in february but whew! hard to get back into it! when i need change, i either color or cut my hair (mostly like a drastic 5-6 inches) or arrange my furnitures at my place.

You are not alone. We all get the blues sometimes. every single person. I admire your bravery and honesty to keep it real with us. in fact, makes me admire you even more (if that was ever possible)!

would love to see you when you come to nyc. that would rock! :)

finally, your hair in any color would rock!!

Sorry 2011 sucked. Some years are just like that... I'm glad you're excited for 2012, and that you're getting back into things that make you happy.
Those trips sound AWESOME-- hope you get to go on all of them!!
(Also, I took a bellydancing class once: there's nothing that makes you feel as simultaneously ridiculous and awesome as bellydancing, especially if you do it with some women in their 40s and 50s. :) )

Creeper alert! When I saw your picture, I kept thinking it reminded me of someone, when I frist commented, I was drawing a blank, but now it came to me, at work, Priscilla Presley.

Have a good weekend!
