Best Seat in the House

{^Partial view of the Portland Riverfront- the Willamette River- as seen from one side of Departure }

{^I love me a view }

{^Beautiful friends and a beautiful view! }

Two weekends ago, after a workweek full of gray skies and SNOW, mi amigos and I awoke to a bright, sunny and warm Saturday. We wasted no time hopping onto the Portland Streetcar from our niche neighborhoods to peruse the very heart of downtown.

One of the most popular restaurants in this neck of the woods is Departure. It's crazy trendy, very fun and instantly transplants you into 'vacation mode'- don't believe me? Check out images here. Due to these aesthetics, it is very, very hard to get a table on the rooftop patio on any given day. But as we strolled past its street entrance, we realized that we were there JUST as they were about to open- we had a chance! And that we did.

Stupid jokes, lots of laughs, lil' Bubbly and bellies of food ensued. We sat around, soaked up each other's awesomeness and bonded over shared love for days off, warm weather and cityscape views. It was a splendid afternoon that could have lasted hours longer in my humble opinion.

The following Monday, it poured.

Yes, yes excellent photography! I am in love with your city. Now I know why I read your blog, to see photos you take of your gorgeous city, & your boy...Yeah! (& your writing voice, that's deff #1!) I always wanted to go to a rooftop restaurant, especially seeing them on trashy reality shows. I need to find one in Phx, however with our lame skyline, I think it wouldn't be the same.

& did you go red? & thank you, had my first day yesterday, feet are killing me, that's retail I guess.

Have a good Wed!
