I love books. So does The Boy. Upon moving into our new place in January, The Boy and I found ourselves completely overwhelmed with our newly-joint collection. Stacks upon stacks of books were in every corner, leering in every box and taking up more space than we could have imagined. A couple of freak-outs and shelf-purchases later: we were able to successfully store (and hide) all of those ugly books we love so dearly. However, some books I felt too sad sentencing to a life of dust and ill-lit conditions.
To the Internets! After numerous coffee table searches at all the usual suspects: ZGallerie, West Elm, Ikea... I was empty-handed and frustrated. Where is the glass-top coffee table I want?

Hi Reggie!
And in case you can't tell- The Boy doesn't give two craps about how I decorate our place.

haha well im glad the boy doesnt care because i love seeing wat you come up with! you have quite the eye for design miss caitlin! i love that table :) xx
looks great.
I love, love, love your place. That coffee table is fab and what an amazing idea to have coasters right there! I'm always forgetting to bring coasters and leaving water marks on my mirrored table.
My husband doesn't mind letting me take the executive decisions on decor but he does give his advice... which is mostly appreciated! :P
so good that your bf doesn't care how you decorate!! well but you do such a great job I don't know why he would say anything anyway. your table is so amazing, I'd love something like that in my place. I LOVE books so this is perfect!
xx
That table is a brilliant purchase!! Great job on the room decor!!
xx
I Want It All
Love the table...and the whole place! Can you come over and help me decorate my house;)
I LOVE the idea of using a glass-topped coffee table to display books - I so want to try that decorating idea someday...super cute! :)
I was hoping you'd post about your table! I was curious after pics in a recent post... what a sweet find! I love that piece.
Every time I come here I learn a new idea about how something can be done, in this case in home decor. I have magazine subscriptions that go back over a decade and they are in ugly brown cabinets in the spare bedroom. there's got to be a more effective way to showcase that stuff, especially since some of the covers are so amazing. I love how you feature Audrey Hepburn! :) thanks for the sweet comments. Separately, when are you coming to nyc??? I must take photos of you for my blog!! or maybe a trip by us to the West Coast! :)
Wow lovely. Totally loved the pictures :)
Do drop by to see my Prague bday post up now :)

He needs an input in everything!! i guess its good lol but not for me cos than i cant have my dream place!! lol but i love the coffee table :) when we get our house - im so displaying a ton of coffee table books!
I love how you put so much dedication in finding a way to properly showcase your favorite books!!! Very cute idea :) I also love the pops of color throughout your apartment!
hahahaha. when I had the girls over for the first time after we moved in together, one girl pulled me aside and whispered "how do you make it look like a man doesn't live here?". so, samsies...I decorated, obviously.
One of my regrets when buying furniture was the coffee table! I wish I got something like this because once I put books and magazines on my coffee table there's limited space for...the important stuff like my wine glass...
I am in love with this coffee table!
I was just thinking that your apartment is SO girly -- I love it. That coffee table is perfect. I have been wanting one with a glass top!

I noticed this in your weekend post! It's very awesome. You rock home decor.
THAT TABLE IS AWESOME!!! WHAT A SUPER SCORE!!!
i have books everywhere! everywhere! i have a really good ikea shelving/cubby system that keeps most of it in order. most of it. if i stopped buying so many damned books i would have less of an issue!
OMG! That deco is amazing, I love everything!! I also love books :)
xoxo
Loving every little bit of this... Even the dorm room comforter.
Such a cool table! I wish I had the time to scour Craigslist for awesome finds like that!
i love that table! i love to read, too! wish i had more time to do so as i'm finding myself slacking so bad the past year. i love seeing the you brought most of your "touch" into your new home with the boy :)
Wonderful coffee table! The boy and I have heeeaps of books in storage.. I would love a big wall of books one day. I just have to wait until we get our own place!
Style by Joanne
I absolutely love it! What a great score!
wow very decorative indeed. Can see why the boy doesn't care at your lair.
Love it!
All my books are on the shelf, collecting dust of course...Did you know LC is coming out with a 'Beauty' book?
That is brilliant! xoxo
We had the same problem with books.. I swear they multiplied everytime I turned my back. I would love a Coffee table like that, it's lovely!
As is the rest of your loving room! You've done a great job!
I like how you displayed your books like that! :)
So so lovely! I love coffee table books. We have a similar table in our living room except the top is not glass. We also store board games under there!
I love that your bf lets you decorate to your heart's content - Ryan won't even let ANYTHING floral in our bedroom, our bedspread is a dark charcoal grey with very small pleats cause it's the manliest thing Target sells, hahaha
Looks great!
And I love L.Conrad's books! <3
Caitlin: hope you have an amazing Memorial Day weekend!! :)
nice books, i love to read every day because i learned a lot from reading!
It’s a GIRL Thing

I wanted to have great decorations in my apartment when I moved in but I gave up on that. My next goal is to have great decorations when i move in with a significant other.
