Outfit of the ... Month: The Sweater

I perpetually go through phases where I would sooner die than take off an item of clothing that I've deemed suitable to wear every second of every day. Thankfully, my current flavor of the month isn't trendy, not memorable and goes with everything. Either that, or it's the exact opposite: trendy, easily recognized when you wear it the next day to see people you just saw last night in it and pretty much goes with nothing that I pair it with.

But you know what? Threadbare don't care! And the following iPhone pics are telling of that:
Having a glass of wine with a friend while wearing my friend.
The Sweater that I can't take off. Like my cheerleader pose? At least I think that's one of their poses, I played basketball in high school, yo.
Yes, those are prescription.
With my college buddies of forever.
I sent this to my friend Miranda, we have an inside joke about taking pics with Honey Buckets. Though I'm not sure either of us really even knows what the joke is?? PS I'm outside of it, just so we're clear.
My body is screaming: "really... this sweater AGAIN?"
Free People top (seen here) goes with faux-Chevron, right? Right!
Using my friends for their adorable Puggle.

But at the end of the day: It's long, it's cozy and it keeps me warm in the office or on evening walks downtown to meet friends and thus; it's probably not going anywhere for awhile. In other news, I need to do a real outfit post sometime. Been a hot minute since I've done one- in the meantime, enjoy those shoddy iphone pictures!

Have you ever had a piece of clothing that you had to stop yourself from wearing again?

I don't count things like that because you're throwing it on over other outfits. Perfectly justifiable.

I'm with you on this one. If you get in the mood wear it til it walks out the closet on its own. I feel ya girl. I feel ya.

Love the cheerleader pose (even tho it isn't really one, the position of your clenched fist is all wrong :P )!

That sweater looks so incredibly comfy - I LOVE it! I have a tendency to always want to wear this same floaty tank that I bought at Forever 21 not too long ago. Since it is my favorite, I ended up buying a few similar tops so that it doesn't always look like I'm wearing the same thing. :P

P.S. 'Somebody I Used to Know' is such an addicting song! :)

I think it works because it's a sweater and only part of an outfit.. the bigger problem arises when you fall head over heels in love with a summer dress and look exactly the same day in day out.. like me in Rome where it looks like my trip lasted three days according to my outfit changes rather than the week I spent there, the majority of which was spent in the most amazing green dress I've ever owned!

That sweater is gorgeous. To my (inexperienced) eye it looks like it has some Navajo patterns (which I love) on it. I'd be inclined to wear it even if it was ragged and hold onto it even after that - it's a beauty. Speaking of beauties, I like the photo you linked to with the words "inside joke about taking pics with Honey Buckets" - adorable. Your prescription glasses look nice. You and your boyfriend are both looking good, happy and healthy. I like the top you're wearing under the sweater in the second to last photo. Puggle is a cutie.

Yes, yes, yes!! The shirt I'm wearing right now actually. It's a lose fitting, canary yellow, peasant top from Ann Taylor. It brightens my day and it super comfortable! I really need to stop wearing it so much :) LOL

Love this post and that sweater. It's very cute! On a side note, your pictures with the glasses are making me feel more comfortable in mine. You totally make glasses look chic and stylish! :)

That is a really nice sweater and you are going to die laughing when I tell you what my I'd rather die than let u pry it off me item is... A black sherpa lined hoodie from old navy. That thing is so soft and so warm, I bought 2 so if 1 gets dirty I can wear the other... Love it when that thing comes out of the dryer... :)

i love it! i also think glasses, sunglasses and glasses of wine are excellent accessories!

i wear the same earrings over and over again. they go with almost everything.

i also have a favorite necklace that i TRY not to wear so often, but it is perfect and i love it so it makes frequent appearances!

I do the same thing with shoes, which is bad because all of my shoes are easily recognizable, so everybody knows my secret.

You just look gorgeous in these photos, especially the 1ST one, the 7TH, & the last one. (Lip color, love!) The sweater, gorgeous as well. Why fix something if it isn't broken? It goes with everything, so why not? I am for ever always in pair of black leggings, I don't even wear jeans anymore. & I have these boyfriend cardis from American Eagle, got them in four color, real simple, I wear them with everything. I am gonna be so sad when they start to rip or something, they are perfect.

I love how you have shown that you can wear it with so many things instead of suggesting to buy something new.
