I stumbled upon you and gratefully basked in your rays

In my mind- summer is basically over. The heat is still here but all my pre-scheduled PTO has been used; my Summer trips have passed and my mind is drifting more and more to Saturday mornings spent sipping coffee while cuddled into a huge blanket on the couch. You can't do those things in the Summer. Every weekend morning, the sun comes flooding into my apartment with the voracity of water in the Titanic and I simply feel like a piece of crap not go-go-going til the wee hours. Additionally, when it's super sunny outside, some people [my crew] want to day drink. And when you give a mouse a cookie day drink, you nap at weird times and stay up at odd hours chugging water and watching reruns of "I Love Lucy" at 2 in the morning. And then come Monday- I skid into my office a bloated, tired (yet tan) mess. What can I say? Some people [me] just can't handle Vegas Summatime.
Some summer newbies I WILL miss: my new heels and new-to-me (vintage store) clutch.
So while I had a GREAT summer (just got back from San Diego and oh my do I have stuff to tell you), I'm getting ready to gear into the cold weather, the overflowing bowls of soup and lots of cheering for Football teams while I relax on my laptop and edit pictures and blog with you all.

Happy to be back in the swing of things, now that summer is "done".

This is how I always feel in late February.. I mean I never really crave winter, because I live in Australia and find it insulting I have to live through such bitter weather, but the feeling that summer is over, even though it's technically still around. and I do get the feeling that there can't be any sand left on the beach because surely it's all been dragged into our unit by now and that I just want it to be dark by 5 so I can sleep normal hours again!!

I love this time of year! Things start to pick up for us - well, football related mostly - but that's fine with me :)

Yes! Bring on fall - immediately! I am so ready for boots, chunky knits, and skinny jeans. Not to mention vampy nail colors for the colder months!

P.S. LOVE the shoes and clutch - so fabulous!! :)

Yeah when winter comes I am a hermit, screw the snow, hate it! Although it is nice, to curl up and such.

I know it is the end of August but I am just not ready to let summer go yet! I think it is because I have yet to see the beach. Usually once I see the ocean, I feel better about Fall coming. Don't get me wrong, I am so ready for soup! Since it was only in the 70s here on Sunday, cloudy, and rainy, we made homemade soup and grilled cheese. It almost made me wish Fall was here. But not quiet yet! 8)

I am always ready for Fall...I just have to wait until mid November for Fall, total booness on that.
I swear I was born in the wrong season. This will be my 2ND time in San Diego, your so right, its just gorgeous! So green, & the weather when I was there last time was just amazing. I checked the weather for this week, it will be in the 70s, I asked my sister if I should bring my blazers, she just looked at me funny. Living in AZ makes me think that 70 degree weather calls for blazers, that's just sad. Your shoes, hottness! & I totally think you should let me borrow your clutch, & deff that purple tulip style skirt. Yeah!

Did you go to La Jolla? I wanna live there!

Summer is over for me as soon as I begin my Fall semester classes -- and they started on Monday. So I am sad.

Ahh I so am not in the same boat. I am not ready for Fall at all! I want it to be summer forever! I am having trouble letting it go, I've planned the next three weekends to be away camping so I can soak in the last few rays of summer!
I am so glad you had such a great summer though, your posts always seemed so cheerful =)

I am so with you on this! We were just discussing how awesome, yet exhausting our social calendar has been this year. However, I fully intend to wear it out the next few weeks, the soup and chilly nights at home can wait just a bit longer. :)

at the mall, summer sure is over. Fall clothes are out in full display. It is so hard to think about sweaters when it is like a 100 degree outside.

I know the feeling....summer feels like it's almost over. It's been getting darker earlier, and it got colder much faster than usual! I mean mid 70s in late Aug? Usually that's late Sept weather.
