just a wee rant

3 things I want gone:

1) Radio DJs pitching weight-loss products. If I take it will I get a body that's perfect for Radio?

2) Websites with songs or videos that automatically play when you load them- takes a lot of nerve to just assume I want your sound to all of a sudden sprout from my speakers. In the words of Kenny Powers: You're f*ckin' Out!

3) Lance Armstrong. What a prevaricator. And a disappointment.

Anything you could do without?

I only really know anything about Lance Armstrong because of all of the money he's raised for cancer, so am not so angry at him lol.. but the other two things? Totally annoying. especially the weight loss thing.. adverts like that make everyone obsess over what they look like, which isn't fun for people (like me) who eat anything they want without counting the calories and have everyone around them going 'oooh, do you realise you're eating carbs?'

This. Ohmigosh so true. I always wind up wildly searching for the mute button. No, thank you. :/

Haha, the DJs out here try to sell diet cookies, its funny...& yes! Hate when I go on blogs & there some song playing, however I guess I am slow for not clicking on the mute button before hand, when I go on their blogs, its always the same blogs...What did Lance do?

Happy almost weekend Miss. C!

Yeah agree with all of those, could do without stupid construction workers who think it's okay to start in the early morning.

@Sarmin - I have long loved Lance Armstrong but strong, unrelenting evidence and accounts have come forth proclaiming that his athletic success derives from using performance-enhancing drugs. I appreciate all the good he has done but I think it's deplorable that he now profits greatly from his "Livestrong" motto and preaches healthy living when his successes stem from syringes and lies, not healthy performance. Anyway... off my soapbox :) Happy almost weekend to you too!!! xo

I totally agree about all 3! Esp. Lance! All smoke and mirrors! Is anything authentic anymore?

My little rant of the day is why do people get onto an elevator before they let people off??? I think that is so rude! It's common manners and oh excuse me for trying to leave the elevator to make room for you to get on! (I live in a building with an elevator that I have to ride at least twice a encounter this issue often!)

I agree with all of them! I really loved Lance Armstrong and thought he was such an inspiration but i am so disappointed now, it feels like a big lie =(

I can't bring myself to believe that Lance is a drug cheat - i just can't. I've always been a huge fan and have even read his books. I don't want it to be true so im pretending it never happened!!!

The fact you quoted Kenny Powers - I LOVE YOU CAITLIN! That man is gold, such a funny show!

I totally agree with the 2nd one-out of nowhere yu suddenly get music blasting out at you on a completelyunrelated website-not great!! Haha Have a great weekend :)

Jerry Sandusky's options. That man is really trying to fight his sentence, which was way too lenient in my opinion.

Yes, if you take those product's you'll get a body like Rush Limbaugh. Once in a while there's a website that has music I like, but of course the ones I don't like are at ear-splitting volume (ugh). I never cared about Lance Armstrong, but I liked watching Barry Bonds hit home runs into the bay.

I seem to recall Rodney Dangerfield saying "Don't get me started". Oops! - too late!

Just a few of the things I could do without (rant):

I could do without people clamoring for everything under the sun to be illegal and anting everyone put in jail for it when they don't know what even an hour in jail is like. This country has a higher proportion of its population in jail than any other country in the world. Most people don't know that our system of injustice works via plea bargaining. Police lying and prosecutors overcharging to try to force guilty pleas by people they don't like is the rule rather than the exception. Innocent people get put in jail all the time;

I could do without politicians who don't listen and then spam and junk mail everyone, i.e.: write them asking to stop a war and get thanked for your interest in Medicare. Write asking for campaign finance reform and get thanked for your interest in the environment. Then find your mailbox crammed with paper cut causing junk mail saying negative stuff about their opponents;

I could do without robo-calls trying to push-poll or sell something, usually at the worst possible moments;

I could do without seeing finger-wagging men trying to lecture women on women's issues;

I could do without having politicians clamoring for more nuclear weaponry when they and their alleged "experts" are so ignorant about radioactive fission, fusion and radioisotopes that they don't even know there's only one "u" in the word nuclear much less anything about Cesium, Strontium or Plutonium;

I could do without the having TV stations and news media refuse to cover candidates who are not pro-war, like Libertarian party presidential candidate Gary Johnson or Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein. They get ignored even while being arrested for trying to get into the debates because the owners of the TV stations have financial ties to defense contractors;

I could do without hearing the lies that sending sending troops to war is "supporting" them or that the wars had something to do with 9/11 (they didn't). The Hijackers were from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Egypt and it was about oil, their holy land, international bank loan-sharking, provocateurs and WORLD TRADE;

I could do without people asking what "the" answer is ( when there are multiple answers, asking is it one thing or the other when it might be both, neither or something else;

I could do without all the politicians thinking it's okay to have poor people pay any taxes at al or advocating a "flat tax";

I could do without having people paying themselves more than 100 times the minimum wage;

I could do without politicians thinking poor people want the right to borrow money. they want to be able to earn decent money.

I could do without healthcare being old people getting a ride to the emergency room strapped to the roof of Mitt Romney's car.

Soory for writing such a long rant. I'm going to stop writing now and try to get me one o' them "Binders Full Of Women".

Sorry for such a terribly long comment, but I felt a compulsive need to add:

I could do without people asking "What's the difference between..." (There's almost ALWAYS more than one difference);

I could do without the implementation of surveillance of private citizens with the simultaneous shielding of the doings of public officials and authorities from being viewed or examined. When did private become public and public become private?

I hate when music automatically starts playing on websites and blogs. SO annoying.

I could do without people's facebook political rants. I am SO ready for this election to be over!
