Hangin' at Edward Cullen's Pad

The setting for the dramatic, always-emo, always enjoyable guilty-pleasure plot of Edward and Bella took place in Stephenie Meyer's Forks, WA: A town she repeatedly described as a misty, foggy, rainy, gray utopia. From the moment I picked-up the book, her geographical descriptors were a dead-ringer to the misty, foggy, rainy, gray utopia that I've known my whollllle life. So it was far from surprising to me that the Producers did in fact pick Portland, OR to film the initial movie: "Twilight" (#PopUpVideo: that was until their budget increased and they moved production to Canada for the ensuing films).

Being someone who has forever loved visiting anyplace that I've seen on the Big or Small Screen, this little image of Bella and Edward scurrying around my city is exciting for me. And what's even more exciting is that the Cullen house is actually in my neighborhood-we're talking a less than 2-minute drive/10-minute walk. And today, on a lazy Sunday afternoon- I grabbed The Boy to go pay it a visit.

Not all of us thought this walk was worth our time... :)

Still of Edward at the house- image VIA.

I feel I must declare that it is a private residence and there's a very obvious place where you should stop walking towards the house (which I obliged- especially because it's kind of tucked back off the beaten path), so I'm not encouraging anyone to go and stalk the poor folks. However, I'm sure they expect some street traffic due to the popularity of the film.

And on that incredibly boring end note, enjoy your Monday!

HA! Love it! That house is pretty cool! Your BF is killing me with his lackluster enthusiasm ;) Haha!

Ha, I love the thumbs down pic - too funny. Jared would be the same way if we lived around anything remotely famous.

That's amazing! I have a love/hate relationship with Twilight ( as in I hate that I love it!) but I would definitely love to see this in real life!
In 2010 I got to visit the plantation home where they filmed Eclipse which was pretty cool! But not as good as this!

Okay so it's pretty hilarious that you live 5 minutes from the Cullen house! And my goodness you look so cute in your out-for-a-walk attire. I am slightly in awe, as when Matt and I go for a neighborhood walk, I am most often found in a dirty-haired bun, yoga pants, an oversized t-shirt, and absolutely no makeup. YIKES.

How cool is that!? And you look adorable as always! It looks so pretty in Oregon. I need to add this to my destinations to visit list! (Oregon ..not necessarily the house..although it would be neat to see)

Never got into Twilight...My sister likes the movies, & totally annoys me with it. Um, she's 35, she needs to stop. Seeing the house in person, very cool, its like a tree house. I so wanna live there. I love your coat, I swear you have the best outerwear.

PS: Why am now realizing your blonde again?

Totally did NOT know this place actually existed! I thought it was a set.

Very cool that you got to take some pics of it. It looks gorgeous.

I'm still so totally jelly that you live in Portland. That's exactly where we are planning on moving the moment the opportunity arises.

if nothing else, the whole Twilight thing makes the northwest the very best. I know you agree.
