Uggs first came into my radar during High School. Once I became privy to their existence, I was on a one-track mind to owning some. However, my babysitting money didn't lend itself very well to plunking down 200 bones for some shoes- so I had to wait until Christmas to receive them as a gift rather than fork over the dough myself.
But alas, on one fine September afternoon spent at Costco, I spied the $20 remedy to tide me over until my real Uggs came in December:
I expected them to be a temporary fix and they would be swiftly tossed once Christmas came. That was about 15 years ago and as I type this right now, my toes are snuggling up against their warm lining. I still wear them multiple times a week despite their stains, frays and holes.
I guess sometimes, you can't put a price on comfort or on the unexpected value of cheap knock-offs.

I got a real pair of Uggs last Christmas which I love and they gave me a reason to retire the knockoffs I had. Those knockoffs served me well and they were purple! I still have them despite them being well past rough around the edges
I had a pair of knockoffs but they didn't do the justice of having a real pair. A complete difference. I love my UGGS I got them 7 years ago and they still look brand new.
I wanted Uggs in HS too, didn't get my first, & only pair until I was 21. I have the Tall black once, now I want chestnut one, I was looking to buy a new pair but the price went up, maybe $35 more...Its now $210 for the Classic Talls, um what? ridic! I totally want to stalk Costco now for these babies. (But I still the want the real once, is that bad?)
I did the same thing with a pair of knock offs I found in TJ Maxx but alas, they have not stood the test of time like the UGGs have.
Gah! I LOVE you so much right now, Caitlin! I have three pairs of faux-UGGS from Costco that I wear around the house as slippers. I'm wearing them right now, in fact - in the exact same color as the ones in your picture!! :D
Wow those have sure stood up to the test of time.
Sometimes knock offs, renditions are just as well made and never be aught up by the brand. I've been disappointed with some brands such as an Italian designer that starts with a p and ends with an a...the quality is less than perfect...
Absolutely, comfort is really very important and i never compromise on it. its the most imp thing for me and it can be stylish too.
Love this post because UGGS, Fake UGGS, EMus whatever anyone has are just amazing. I don't care that everyone thinks they are ugly or not in style, I will ALWAYS wear mine. Glad you have found a faux pair that has stood the test of time!
God bless Uggs!! I was also obsessed with them in high school and bought myself a fake pair from Target that I kept well into college before they died a noble death :)
No, you sure can't.
Please don't tell me Uggs (& their friendly knock-offs) have been around for 15 years... that makes me feel super old!!
