Down, Down, Down

Images from the 2 times I've gone up so far this season: In December w/ my friends and in January w/ my Dad and Brother.
Mir and Meeeself checking out the amazing view 12/29/12
My Dad, Brother and Me hitting the slopes for some night skiing on 1/4/13
Left: JJ & the Warming Hut Right: How you take pictures when you're skiing. People generally hate me.
My Friend had a GoPro and took some cool shots, I'm kinda thinking I need one in my world.
The Warming Hut in front of beautiful Mt. Hood- which is 45-minutes East of Portland

My Dad & Bro enjoying a drink inside the Warming Hut mid-run.
Skiing is not for the faint of heart. And I'm not talking about the angle of the slopes, I'm talking about the price of a Lift Ticket- that sh*t cray. But I am a firm believer in the fact that part of what you are paying for is the amazing, gorgeous, wintery views you get to see along the way. Without Skiing in my life, I wouldn't get to see the magic of trails hidden high above the Valley floor or the top of an evergreen up close and personal or know the perfect simplicity of coasting a mild run in the pitch black of the night: it's a sensational place for retrospect.

However, the added bonus of spending hours doing what is essentially Cardio with your friends and family in a Postcard setting... just ain't too bad.

Welcome Skiing Season, I have missed you!

Never been skiing, seeing your pictures (now & before) I so want to go. That action shot of you, badass!

Oh, I love the action shot of you skiing! And the scenery...give me snow, s'il vous plait!

P.S. Can we just talk about how amazing you look on the slopes? Pink lippy and all? I LOVE it! :)

I think you captured skiing well Miss Caitlin. Any action shots of me would involved equipment flying and me tumbling.

And that mountain view would be hypnotizing.

ARgh, Amazing! I can't believe you've already gone twice, I really want to go to the slopes a few times this season, and take a snowboarding lesson! Jealous, the pics are gorgeous. What exactly does a go pro camera do? Is it the one you wear as like a headlight on your helmet?

Wow that looks like one amazing spot, even makes me like snow. Although skiing I'd prob break many a bone haha

Oh I love skiing! I haven't been yet this year but your pictures might just give me the push I need to go! Beautiful pictures by the way.

I also agree, it is the best workout - hours of cardio that you don't hardly realize because you're having so much fun! :)

I've always wanted to go skiing but have never tried...I do love roller coasters but since I am sitting I don't feel like I have to worry about control unlike skiing.

That looks amazing!! I wish I was a better skier I am still in the beginner stages and I don't go that often because they tend to be expensive trips and now I'm scared that I'll seriously hurt myself.
but I think you need a GoPro as well if you do this regularly because that shot looks awesome!

OMG I love this post.

1. The pic of you shredding up the hill from the GoPro snap? AHHHHH-mazing. WHAT! You look AWESOME and so pro! HELLO.

2. How you take pictures on the hill? Genuis.

3. Beautiful view and I love the numerous photos.

4. You're wearing lipstick to ski. LOVE IT!!!

What a view! I'm a little jealous of that view, the snow and what fun you all look like you're having! Great pictures!!

I'm not sure I could keep my balance on those things. I barely do when I walk straight, not sure with a pair of skis.

However, amazing pics and looks like a lot of fun.

GORGEOUS pics. I love that you are full on wearing lipstick. I cannot ski and I have become fearful of snowboarding after boarding for 10+ years. Go figure. Must be my old age. Haha. Looks like you had a great time on both trips!

PS. Lift tix are ridic. LIKE beyond. I can spend less and have more fun by the fire.

Did I tell you how much I love these pictures??? If not, I LOVE them! They are gorgeous! I will live vicariously through you though; skiing is just not my thing... The thought of free sliding down an ice/snow covered hill just does not do it for me. And yes, I have tried it and I still stand by that statement. Put me on water skis any day, but I'll pass the snow skis to you. But I do love that you have your camera with you even skiing. And GREAT action shot of you to. You go girl!!
