Muddy Heels

I love being a Downtown Girl.

I like art shows alongside my shopping. Big, summer hats alongside hip bars on a July day.
I love a 5-minute cab ride to a land of hip-hop and fashion...

I love lazy book clubs on top of chic condos downtown...

I love pretty friends, in pretty cocktail dresses...

I love Sangria and studded jackets on Sundays...

BUT... I also love other things.

I love feeding birds in jeans and a fleece...

I love being outside. Around man tools.

I love revving the engine and taking off on a Snowmobile...

I love throwing on a crappy tank and shorts and exploring things in the woods, such as burned down cabins...

I love fishing/climbing/playing basketball...

I love, love, LOVE white water rafting...

I love finding the sweet Pitbull who followed me back to my tent the night before, still outside it in the morning and spending that AM nuzzling up to my new buddy who somehow thought I was his Master...
The Owner found him about 3 hours later. I was equal parts happy and devastated.
I love a boat and a pole; and any dirt-kickin' animal I can get my hands on...
I just love both worlds. So, so much. And I honestly feel that I'd be just as happy on a farm, in sweatshirts and yoga pants- as I would living here in the Downtown area with my heels and beaded hemlines.

I'm off tonight to head to my Dad's cabin for some of the latter til Sunday... I hope YOU enjoy your weekend!

I'll be posting a few shots from the cabin on Instagram: @CaitieLady08

Your pictures are GORGEOUS!
I feel so conflicted on this stuff too.. right now I'm doing the whole by the beach, surrounded by dairy 'nothing but a t-shirt on' country thing... but I do miss the killer heels and cocktails before the theatre routine that came with city life.. so much to love about both lifestyles.

I want your life. No, seriously. This post is everything I love - downtown mixed with cabin-life. It is the perfect balance {and you capture it so beautifully in these pictures}.

Have an incredible time this weekend, Caitlin! :)

Wow you have it all and it sees could be happy anywhere. Man tools, I could use and break a cabin or something near by, then you could explore lol

You should probably have a reality show going on about your life too, but not sure it can happen because your life looks so nice, calmed and drama free, and reality tv is full of drama.

I LOVE THIS POST!!! I'm a city girl but I adore the ocean like nobody's business. The country scares me. Haha

How is your basketball game? I really loved this post. You can go from country to city without missing a beat. I like that you enjoy your life.

I love how you somehow manage to make BOTH worlds like stylish!!
I like both too, but probably the outdoorsy, animals and old clothes more. I'm so excited for camp to just get to dress like a dag for a month and be on a lake nonstop - bliss!!
Have a great weekend Caitlin!

What an amazing and fun assortment of photos! I love your smile by the dog painting and the boxes of shoes and love the pink dress and wide brimmed pink hat in the photo next to it, and smiling with your fashionable friends in the next photo. You even make book clubs look like fun.

I'm fantasizing you sharing my latest outfit post the next time your together with your pretty friends in their pretty cocktail dresses (Incorrigible aren't I?). I just did a new post last night titled "OOTD: Lingerie Review of Dollhouse Bettie Retro 50s High-Waist Satin Panties with Blu Sage Blouse"!

What a diversity of lifestyles you enjoy! I love the photo of you feeding the greedy Seagulls (you should probably wear a hat for that). Do you know how to operate that backhoe you're sitting in? I wish I had the room and the money for one of those. You look amazing on that snowmobile. I love the outfit! Those jeans and the colourful print (jacket?). You're a real outdoors person when you're not at work aren't you? Are those vines you're climbing on in the photo right above the one with the whitewater rafting? You even look fashionable when you're fishing - amazing! My taxes are finally done, so yes! I'm enjoying my weekend which started off with my April post and later I'll be getting outside to enjoy this Spring weather :)

And this is why I love YOU! I love shopping and makeup and things that smell good but I also love cabins, hiking and campfires. Superficial stuff doesn't seem to matter if you can't enjoy the good, deep stuff!
