I was joking around with my brother-in-law about how the best part of the weekend is actually RIGHT after work on Friday. Yes, Saturday is GRAND and brunch on Sundays is deeee-light-ful. But the sweet spot of the whole shebang might just be Friday, early evening, right after work. Why? Because of the sheer elation one feels with five days of laboring behind them as well as all the possibilities in one's mind for how they want to spend their freedom. It really is the happiest hour.
And when it's time to toast that weekly jubilation, what's better than making like a cowboy, taking off our dirty clothes and going to the nearest watering hole? And in last Friday's case, it was the new addition to our neighborhood- "10 Barrel Brewing, Co." which just came to us coincidentally from cowboy country.
10 Barrel isn't a new company. In fact if you check out this post from January, you can see us visiting their Bend, Oregon, flagship location in the thick of winter (that outdoor, dog-friendly fire pit area is pretty dope). However, they are brand, spankin' new to Portland and if there's anything that Portlanders appreciate it's more breweries, especially ones that were started in Oregon.
^The art of the perfect IPA.
^Decisions, decisions ... but none of the ones you make will be bad.
^Where the magic happens.
^Bam. Oregon raised.
^Buddies relaxing after a long week in the celebrated tradition of ice cold beers.
^Final beer and walking on home.
So when I said that I would make it up to the Brew Gods in this post by ordering some great beer at the next brewery I'm at: I meant it. I welcomed 10 Barrel with open arms, sipped their delicious ale and eagerly anticipate heading back again soon- hopefully we can find a seat! That place is so good it's quite packed.
Happy Friday, all!

I love the photos, especially of the taps.
Friday after work is totally the sweet spot - work week in the rear view, entire weekend ahead.
Have a good one!
It sure does look like quite the happening spot indeed. As soon as freedom rears its head, that is the best part for sure.
this looks like such a fun place! i wish we had places like this around here. great pictures!
You're so right, it is the happiest hour and I'm counting down the minutes. The brewery bar looks amazing! Perfect happy hour spot.
TGIF!!! Happy weekend to all and to all a good Friday night!
Sunday brunch is delightful!!! Lol I am not a huge fan of beer. Well, if I am being completely honest...unless I am chugging it down during a game of flip cup, I hate it. That being said, how's their Pina coladas?? Hahaha
Your pictures are very, very nice!!
I'm not a fan of beer whatsoever. I very seldom drink one but the place(s) look nice to hang out and order something besides beer.
It has a great look! Very clean and modern.
Looks like a home-run visit, Caitlin. I am glad to see you still posting good stuff. I hope to be less of a delinquent reader, now. Enjoy your Sunday!.
