Last week was a horrible one for me eating wise. And by 'horrible' I mean that I enjoyed delicious food without regard to calories or carbs. So be it. Moderation is key and most of the time I spend my weeks eating on point. So I'm just writing off last week and not looking back. Hear that body? THAT DIDN'T COUNT.
My heavier eating largely had to do with my work schedule last week (plus with MDW, I didn't meal prep. Which is exactly why I need to do it every Sunday ....). I had lunch meetings up the wazoo and two work-related happy hours + my Wine Club with my girlfriends (here). What's a girl to do? [Cue the gif of Cookie Monster eating everything]. Anyway, so after leaving a client happy hour last week, I kept the gravy train rolling (mmmm, gravy) and met Jay & Chandler for actual dinner at Oven & Shaker in the Pearl District.
^"Oven" aka pizza & "Shaker" aka cocktails. Clever, no?
^Everyone praises Oven & Shaker for its pizza. But if you ask me, the Nostrana salad is the FIRST reason to eat here: Radicchio, parmigiano, rosemary-sage croutons, cæsar style dressing. It tastes like nothing I've ever had. I can't describe it. Just order it.
^Local IPA & the Wild Fennel Sausage pizza.
^Chandler intoxicated by the smell and hoping he can be let out of 'jail' (the area under the table). No dice.
It was pretty much a 'slice' (Get it? Get it? SO CLEVER) of heaven and a lovely way to finish up the evening and stroll home while enjoying God's gift to humans decadently floating above us: Blue hour.
^I seriously wish this sky lasted all night. How pretty is it?

I'm sure the Hindenburg reference from the other day doesn't have to do anything with this, lol
Chandler would be paws-itively happy if you would let him out from under the table!
Lol Chandler really wants out, just look at that face.
That salad looks AMAZING.
I'm not the only one that dreams about food?? Thank god hahaha that place looks amazing!!! Are they opening in NY any time soon?? Lol
@crankymigrant- lol, yup! I told you!
Oven & Shaker looks great! Can Chandler go into the restaurant? That would be very cool, but I don't know if I would trust my dogs around all that food.
Cute pic of Chandler under the table. It's funny because we keep the dog beds under the coffee table in the family room. They love it. It's like their den.
That seriously looks amazing and so much better than my veggie burger I am staring at right now lol
OMG why you gotta do that to me? That looks seriously so amazing. At least you didnt' have the spicy salami and honey pizza. I might have shed a tear.
