I Stand For ...

I stand for coconut anything.

I stand for the dude abiding.

I stand for finishing a movie you love and then starting it over immediately.

I stand for life documentation and I've stood for that since I was really young.

I stand for calling your pet your “son” or “daughter”.

I stand for ignoring people who say you can't do that ^.

I stand for decorative placemats- so much magic in one stretch of cloth.

I stand for never disparaging people’s family members.

I stand for learning about your heritage and determining how that has played a role in who you are.

I stand for quietly volunteering & donating.

I stand for Nalley canned Chili (forever and a day do I stand for that trashy deliciousness).

I stand for small photos nestled against HUGE mats.

I stand for breaking lots of rules in high school while still remaining 80% adherent to the 'rents and an overall good person.

I stand for the fact that a good manager can make or break how you feel about work.

I stand for having guy friends and scoff at people who say it’s not possible. Perhaps it's an insult to my looks but I've experienced great relationships with numerous guys who couldn't have cared less about flirting with me.

I stand for not marrying super, duper early. Gotta live a little first.

I stand for grey floors. Grey anything. Grey everything.

I stand for accepting that I will never be able to wrap a gift that looks good. Look for all the men & me in the gift bag aisle.

I stand for never following a diet that takes away a morning coffee.

I stand for funny magnets.

I stand for carrying on normal conversations with your pets. They’re listening.

I stand for pencil skirts.

I stand for female strength.

I stand for romance with Jay in the form of thumb-wrestling, machine-gun kisses and making fun of each other.

I stand for eating healthy most of the time but sometimes saying “**** it” and gorging all the livelong day with zero regrets.

I stand for night skiing and the meditative vibe that comes from gliding over snow in the dark with only your thoughts.

I stand for not sharing other people’s big news before they have a chance to share it themselves.

I stand for dirty, immature jokes with your girlfriends.

I stand for evenings without any TV on.

I stand for always thinking Jay is the cutest as he’s falling asleep with his book leaning against his nose.

I stand for never, ever, ever letting politics stop you from being friends with someone else. Some of my favorite people in this world think 100% opposite of me. If someone is nice & funny, who gives a **** who they vote for?!

I stand for the night owls, in a world that definitely does not like to appease us. The struggle is actually real!

I stand for forever reading children’s books- so much imagination and color. Never too old for that. Oh, and they always come with a lesson. Win/Win!

I stand for asterisking out cuss words. Would you kiss your mama with that fully-typed word?

I stand for zero excuses as to why you are interested in gossip, celebs, etc. People who judge you for it can get over themselves. It’s not like I’m confusing Britney Spears with Gandhi.

I stand for blogging, as weird as it may seem to those who don’t do it.

and I stand for Idris Elba (because … duh. I mean duh, duh, duh.).

What do you stand for?

I stand for having to do a post of my own like this and linking back to yours as inspiration.

I stand with you on a lot of these things, and location-wise I stand with you in the gift bag aisle.

Yep, talk to the pets indeed as I do with the cats all the time. Ignoring the naysaysers is a good one too. And I can't wrap worth a damn. Don't have to asterisk out damn, right? lol

I got married at 22 - not sure if that is "super duper" early, but I believe that life happens to everyone differently, and I didn't like the idea of not experiencing life with my husband.

Funny how some people think blogging is weird, but they use Facebook/Instagram/Twitter all day.

@Steph- ha, do it! I always love reading things like this.

Miss Caitlin S. said...

@Pat- lol, you can asterisk or not asterisk out anything you please! These are just MY rules for myself, lol. And yes, your cats seem to carry on lots of conversations with you given all your content of their opinions!

@Robin- Absolutely! It's everyone's own journey. "Young" is a relative term and I was very immature at 22 so I don't think anyone in their right mind would have even wanted to marry me, ha. I meant in my own life, not across the board. :) and that's a good point!

Why do you have all the posts that I love. This is a fantastic post. I may also have to commandeer this one at some point, as long as you're okay with that.

I 100% agree with you about the being friends despite politics. I don't care who someone votes for, what they believe in - as long as they allow me the same privilege. I truly despise being made to feel that i'm inferior because someone doesn't like my opinions when I don't shove them down others throats :)

I stand for homemade marinara sauce because I bleed marinara thanks to my good old Italian genes.

I stand for the belief that as long as no one is getting hurt, people should be free to do their own damn thing.

I stand for super tacky and awesome zebra print everything.

Miss Caitlin S. said...

@Melissa- go ahead and use it! And thank you! Oooo, and YES to homemade marinara sauce. Always key (and not that hard to make!)

Miss Caitlin S. said...

@Madilyn- ha, yeah. we don't have AC so the heat has been quite rough lately ...
