^Living at home (with Chandler) for the next week at my parents'. I am so not into suburbs living at this juncture in my life but dang it if a big backyard, a deck and a driveway basketball hoop next to all my errands isn't appealing!
^After bleaching, boraxing, tooth brushing refrigerator crevices way late into the night Saturday evening, I was excited by my MAC recycling bounty. Give me a pale pink lip or a bright pink lip or give me death.
^Packing, moving behind me- blogs ahead.
Are there any other "Friends" fans here who remember when Chandler made the resolution to not make fun of the squad? He goes the entire episode avoiding his little asinine comments until the very end where he can't take it anymore (seen here). After unleashing a diatribe on each character, he (with the relief of expression, or the expression of relief- both work) collapses into his chair and utters a loud "ahhhhhhhh". Finally, it is done and he feels better.
That's me. It's (almost) done. We no longer have an address in downtown Portland. After a crazy four days post Jay moving the big stuff with the movers to San Francisco, my mom and I tirelessly worked to scrub every nook and cranny of the apartment we have called home for 1.5 years. When we left, it was sparkling clean (many thanks to my mom for that!). But it was also Saturday night and long had the sun gone to bed. We were equal parts tired, exhausted, cranky and proud. The last thing I did before exiting our little home was turn our keys in. So sad, our first place married. Our first place with the 3 of us as a family. Leaving homes is always bittersweet - and I got plenty more to say on that later.
However, it is done! Jay has moved into our new San Francisco digs and will return this weekend for a wedding. Our old pad is empty. I am now staying with family before Chandler and I drive down a week from today! So, so crazy and exciting.
But between now and the 24th, I have family to visit, a nephew to smother in kisses, a wedding to attend and a GD mountain to climb (I agreed to do it last year and planned my exit from Oregon around it, so NBD, the last thing I do in the NW will be scale a mountain). So I'm just soaking it all in and enjoying my last few days as a resident of Oregon.
Like Chandler (the character, not my dog named after him) said: AHHHHHHH.
Now let's all just send good vibes to Jay today on his first day of his big, new, downtown San Francisco job. Love that man.
