As I sat outside on the office balcony last week, with the 100+ heat blaring overhead and my feet beginning to melt into my leather pumps, I started to think about how much the summer is not meant for the day to day. Surely, the season was sent to all of humanity as a sign to shut down the computer, take off the long-sleeved blazer and head immediately somewhere that incorporates all the bounty of sunshine into everything that it does. And where else is better to do that than Vegas? I mean, really. During these coveted months, I really believe we were meant to roam free in the heat with our squads, makin' the rounds at the hotels and (of course) wearing a fun outfit that makes the day just a little bit better. Which, to me, looks a little like this:
#UltimateVegasOutfit- Day - Hitting' up the Venetian shops
^Loose, colorful, bright & stylish rule the daywear in Vegas. Many hours before you get dolled-up for an evening out and in order to get a sweat going for the pool later- it's all about the boardwalk. I love flowy fabrics while I explore all the shops and fashionable wedges to ensure that I still get all the height without all the pain. And I (of course) have to have a portable camera ready to capture all the fun- which includes some pale-pink lipstick.
#UltimateVegasOutfit- Pool - Fun in the sun at the Mirage pool
^I'm still a sucker for a black bikini and there's no place better to show off a fashionable one than at the Mirage pool. With full bar service while you're in and around the pool, it's easy to have a good time no matter where you roam. Whether you're sippin' a Pina Colada while wading around or simply enjoying a club soda and a magazine in your pool chair: It's important to have the right look to complete the vibe. I love a complementary bright wrap over my neutral swimsuit and it's just not a pool party without some fun sunnies. Just don't forget the water and sunscreen!
#UltimateVegasOutfit- Evening - Cocktails & Dinner at Encore
^Everyone knows that Vegas evenings call for a little added sparkle. However, I'm in the camp that still believes you need to stay a little ladylike. Instead of overly revealing outfits, I prefer modern slits, embellishments and cut-outs for interest. Those go best with bold lipstick, bold purses and shoes that just pop. You can never go wrong increasing the va-va-voom during an evening out at the Encore at Wynn Las Vegas.
