Paris Adventures | Eiffel Tower

"Okay, let's make our way to the Eiffel Tower but stop somewhere en route to sip some wine before we get there," my Mother-In-Law (3-weeks into her European vacation and clearly embodying her new homeland) commanded to the group. To which I responded: "There's no part of that sentence that I don't like."
^It's just like the Geico commercials state: When you're at the ET, you take a selfie, it's what you do.

Because really - that is just a beautiful grouping of words. Having never been to Paris prior to this trip, I was obviously extremely pumped to see, with my very own eyes, the (arguably) most well-known structure in the world. So we putzed down the many historical "rues", chatted about anything that passed, smiled into the cool fall breeze and became overly excited when ET would pop its head up behind the buildings. This was all done as we searched for the perfect Parisian cafe to hunker down and cleanse our palettes before the big event. When in Rome Europe, you drink in the afternoons.
^Parisian wine, Parisian snacks and ...

Eiffel Tower, Fall in Paris
^ ... a pretty spectacular Parisian view from my seat.

^So glad I stood up to take this really fast. Jay's little bro, Jay, his Mom & Stepdad as we toasted our next stop.

And after dusting salted chip remnants off our laps, it was around the bend we went to see this pretty little thang':

I really struggle at major tourist attractions. Not because I'm too cool for them but I really lose my steam standing in line for hours and hours and inching my way through crowds thereafter so I was a bit worried to come here for that reason alone. However, I was pleasantly surprised that we were able to enjoy ample walking space and really have the buffer to feel all the feelings that come with laying your eyes on something you've seen imitated countlessly throughout your life.

And with memories of Paris now roaming in my head, I head off to work ... :)

Gorgeous!!! Your MiL sounds like my kinda lady ;) I haven't been to Paris (or France) since I was in college studying abroad - would love to get back some day...Provence is on the France travel bucket list too!

Great shots indeed. Always better when tourist traps are easier to maneuver. Standing in lines forever is just annoying.

I'm a firm believer in day drinking whenever you're on vacation, but I feel like it's probably more of a norm when you're in Europe. It sounds like y'all had the perfect time walking over and visiting the Eiffel Tower! Everything about your day just looks so beautiful and now I really want to go to Paris!

I tend to lose my steam too after standing in line for what feels like forever, but usually it's totally worth it! Especially if you stop for wine along the way ;-)

Great shots! I'm glad you had room to move. We'll be there at the end of October next year and that makes me happy.

So pretty and so...jealous. ;) That just sounds so very dreamy right about now. Remind me why we didn't decide on an immediate Paris honeymoon? :)

You are seriously so talented with your photography! Love the cafe view of the Eiffel Tower. I remember being in Paris for the first time, sitting at a bistro with wine and a view of the Eiffel Tower. Such a magical moment!

I'm the same way with the lines and whatnot... this definitely would've been worth it though even if there WAS a long line!

Beautiful pictures!!!! Did you all get overwhelmed with the gypsies asking for shit? Sign here, sign there etc etc...?
I'll do my own not so friendly review of Paris on the other blog one of these days and we'll compare notes.

Also, upon digging in my archives yesterday, I found a comment from you from many years ago that made me say... what did Caitlin just say? lol i seriously cracked up at that one. Will show later... don't know how, though.
