My Blogging Space

I speak a lot about my love of city life. And that's because it's etched into our day-to-day and is a huge fabric of our identity at this chapter in our life. It brings with it so many charms (for us, maybe not for everyone) that we love enough to continue doing it. But that doesn't mean it's without its sacrifice. I mean, at this point you could show me your backyard, garage, attic and pantry and I'd be all "Mmmm girl, you should submit this to 'MTV Cribs'." Space is the most coveted thing for downtowners.

Unlike a lot of bloggers who show you a charmed office or glamorous nook, I'm about to show you the very bland place where I blog. And ringing true to the 'other side' of city life, it's in a place that I have to set-up when I start and deconstruct when I'm done as it's smack dab in the middle of our kitchen and living room as there isn't any other option in our pad. But if you would like a visual of where I come to purge this drivel every evening for no apparent reason, here's some snippets ...
^This chair usually lives in a corner. I have to bring it over to the 'breakfast bar' on Sundays to do my blogging. As I set everything else up, I compile other items I need and put them on the chair while I plug in cords, etc.
^Headphones so I can zone out and type and not let Jay's Sunday night TV distract me. Glasses because all the better to see you with, my dear. And of course, my laptop with my Apple product screaming at me forever and ever that my storage is almost full. alkdsjfaldjflakjfaldkf. I'm sorry Steve Jobs, but in the words of Chandler Bing: Shut up, shut up, shutttttt upppppppp.
^Once I get my laptop on the buffet bar, I'll place the chair items up there too. See the kitchen sink backdrop? I mean it's just so glamorous!
^Only have a glass of wine on Sundays. Not if I blog mid-week. Normally my camera would be there too but I'm using it to take these pics - obviously.
^External hard drive for my photos, mouse, glass of lemon water and my phone.
^And here's where I hop to it.

Behind the laptop lid is our kitchen and behind my back is our living room. Here I sit to edit pictures and type, type, type away for a couple hours. When I'm done, the chair goes back in the corner. The laptop goes back in its sleeve. My headphones, mouse and external hard drive go back to their stored locations and it's as if I was never here at all.

And that my friends, is where I blog.

Your blogging space might actually be a little more glamorous than where I normally blog, which is on the couch! There's an outlet that's close enough, so I can have my charger plugged in and ready to go! I really should utilize the study a little bit more, but that's where my husband works so I always feel a little weird using it. Plus, it's really messy and would be pretty distracting I'm sure.

I sit on a butt pillow on the couch, more or less glamorous? lol not much space at my sea.

Even though space is a commodity downtown, your spot is beautiful! And you need to teach me your ways in the world of photo editing. Your pics are always stunning <3

It's incredible how expensive San Fran living is...I think you have a cute space although it may seem a bit cramped. Are you in a studio apartment?

@Emily - no we have a one-bedroom. Just no space for an office! :)

If it works it works.

I blog wherever I am. Usually on the couch on a Sunday. I have to continually move my mouse as dogs climb around.

I hear ya on city living and having no space...! I'm so used to small places, I am amazed when I go to someone's apartment that is larger than 600 square feet! I'm all wow! You must be rich!! HAHA Hey girl, I blog at work. Am way too lazy to blog at home! And when I do, its on my bed!

LOL Our blogging spaces are very similar! Mine is either at the kitchen table, or, when I'm feeling EXTRA lazy... bed!

haha love it! i blog at work at my desk most of the time (on lunch.. i swear) or on the couch. no fancy space. actually, KC bought me a desk and gave me his old (but way better than my laptop) computer .... I just need a new chair and I will have a fancy-ish space. But i kinda dig the couch.
