What's New With You | Link-Up

Well, today is a special day because I'm doing a link-up. Oh hayyyl yes. I haven't done one of these in a long, long time (2009?). I usually feel too scatter-brained to contribute but this one was so easy, just called: "What's New With You?". So clearly Kristen & Gretchen were girls after my own heart when they came up with that simple question. So here's a few things that are very new with me as of this week:

What's New With Me:
Upcoming bachelorette party in Vegas
^My 2014 Vegas Bachelorette
After a sh*t ton of emails back and forth, we've finally nailed down a date for Tracy's bachelorette party in July [she asked me to be her bridesmaid in this post]. Now, I would be excited to go to Vegas with all my girlfriends at any given time. But due to the fact that we have all dispersed now to different states, countries and life stages: This trip is gonna rock my socks off. I'm simultaneously counting down the days while remaining steadily grateful for them. Like I mentioned here, we're on the lose weight train so I need this time to get svelte (or like semi-svelte...) before I'm in 180 degree weather. So yes, I'm elated but also beyond grateful for the waiting period.

What's New With Me:
Super Bowl in my city + my team playing + my family visiting
In case you guys didn't realize, the Super Bowl is in the Bay Area this year. And by some magical stroke of luck, the Denver Broncos are in it. My Dad is from Denver and I've been raised to root for them my entire life and always have. So this weekend is gonna be baller, especially because my family is coming down. I can't wait! I already work right in the thick of Super Bowl city in downtown San Francisco and it's really exciting. I would go on and on about it but I'll reserve that for next week after it's all happened.

What's New With Me:
Cleaning the house + purging the excess
Dudes, this is a post all in itself coming but I've picked up THIS BOOK that everyone has been talking about and I've been getting rid of things left and right. Right now we have a huge line of bagged things for charity that we're dropping off tonight and it feels so good.

What's New With Me:
Golden Gate Bridge race comin' on up
^GG Bridge at Sunrise in October, taken by me.
Jay and I have enlisted in a 10K/10M race over the GG Bridge (guess who is running which distance, ha!). Super pumped for it as those race days tend to be really fun. Not to mention the sheer fear of hating my life during those miles makes me stay focused on exercise in the same way shooting at someone's feet makes them "dance". At least I know I'll get a break over the actual bridge because ain't no way in hayyyl that I won't stop to take a picture there.

Thanks for the awesome link-up Kristen & Gretchen.

I'm pulling for a Broncos win. I went to Texas A&M. Gary Kubiak and Von Miller are both A&M grads. Plus, I thought Coach Kubiak's parting with the Houston Texans was a shame, so I'm happy to see him succeed. AND, I'm super excited this year because it's the first time since living in Australia that I'm going to a bar to watch it LIVE (and not wait for the replay or have it spoiled). So, Monday morning, I'm headed to a Super Bowl party hosted by the Sydney Americans. I may be boozed up before noon :)

Speaking of boozed up. I've celebrated several girlfriend trips and bachelorette parties in Vegas. Man. Those are good memories.

Go Broncos!! I've always been a Colts fan so we'll forever be a big fan of Manning's. I was talking to my dad this week wondering what his thoughts were on Manning. I wonder if he'll retire after the season ends if they win. That's the way I'd want to go out. I feel like he wants one more Super Bowl win before he walks away from the game.

I'm going to purge like a boss this weekend. I can't wait. I usually do a section of the house monthly, but I have slacked hard since June. It's time.

Hurrah for an exciting weekend with family!

If I purge any more I'll be sitting on the floor lol my ocd keeps me from needing any book for that. Super Bowl sure worked out fun for you. Can't you run and take pics at the same time? haha

ohhhh heyyyyyy thanks for linking up with us girlfran! this is so awesome. i'm so glad you could join us. scatterbrains for the win!

okay so this might seem odd, but i've never been to vegas and had a true vegas vacation.. i mean, i've been 3 times, but never like pool parties and cute hair and bikinis and you get where i'm going with this? probably not haha so i need some tips on how we get into the fun pools and which ones are the fun pools with the yummy cocktails and any other tips you might have ;) we are going in august, but our cruise is in june so i am trying to get svelte (or semi svelte) as well, just so i feel comfortable, you know? right now i'm a wee bit soft and fluffy haha.

i am not a football / superbowl fan but that is so awesome that it's in your area and your team is playing! so cool.

good job on purging! i read that book but didn't get rid of anything because hashtag lazy. i really need to get my butt into gear. we are in a 3 bedroom house and when we moved in, we could barely fill it up and now we are overflowing. it's ridiculous.

HEY!!! A RACE! you go girl. you are awesome. can't wait to see the gorgeous pictures you take. good luck!

I've been trying to get rid of a ton of crap too and it feels amazing!

In the two times we've gone to visit Michael's family and actually gone into SF, I still haven't been to that vantage point to see the GG bridge! (Despite asking every time...) Next time I'm making it happen!

Superbowl Sunday is going to be crazy in San Fran and you're so lucky to be in the center of it! Enjoy and hope your team wins! Oh and Vegas trips with the girls are always something to get excited about!

Is there Superbowl being by your work making things insane? It's going to be in Houston next year and Super Bowl City will be like, three weeks from my office! The planning committee is already trying to use our parking lot and send us elsewhere, for our own good. How exciting that your team is in it, too! I'm a Giants fan so I'm rooting for Peyton... if it isn't "my" Manning brother, it might as well be the other!

Your 2014 bachelorette crew looks fab. That book "The Life Changing Magic Tidying Decluttering " would be a good one for me to read - I'm the king and queen of clutter combined. Every time I see a photo of the Golden Gate Bridge I think of the TV series "Charmed". I have 4 seasons on DVD and watched all of the seasons on NetFlix - which sadly is what's newest with me - being a couch potato watching NetFlix. Enjoy your Superbowl-city goings on and time with your family!

Having to wear a bathing suit in Vegas really is the perfect motivation to continue working out and eating right! Bachelorette parties in Vegas are seriously so much fun, as you know, so I know that you'll have a blast with all of your girlfriends! I was so happy that the Broncos won last night and that Von Miller won MVP! I graduated from Texas A&M, so of course I was rooting for them! The Super Bowl will be in Houston next year, and I can't wait for all of the fun festivities!
