Tiki Chic

I don't think that this will be my most tropical summer of all time. Not that I spend all of my sunny months regularly drinking out of coconuts while wearing delightfully bright yet, somehow, still earth-toned pieces. But as it always happens, our summer is basically already full with weddings, bachelor & bachelorette parties and jaunts up north to Portland and Ashland to see our families. There's no big leisurely vacation in the works, psssshhhh. Secretly, I'm okay with that - especially if it means we can plan a better trip for the fall and winter and head somewhere cold together which is truly the type of trip I like more (#SnowAndFireplaceLoverForLife). Anyway, just because we ain't jetting off on a tropical excursion like the Brady Bunch, we do plan to hit up the next best thing here in the Bay Area: The world famous Tonga Room & Hurricane Bar. And if I'm going to dine at a place where faux-hurricanes shake the atmosphere (fauxurricanes? I'm so clever!) and all drinks come with a tacky yet adorable umbrella, I'm gonna need to look the part.

Bringin' the Tiki to us this summer. So as I say to myself every morning while willing myself away from the makeup brushes and out the door: That'll do Pig, that'll do.

If I was a person to ever bare my stomach, I would totally love that toucan gear.

I think we tend to take our big vacations NOT in June-July-August.

Who wants to vacation when it is super duper hot anyway? You can get that at home.

Those bracelets are a cute little addition. These outfits would look great on you. I love Tiki style places. We have on downtown and their famous drink is called the Tiger Fucker. Of course, I order that every time we go there just because the name is funny. lol

I need that pineapple glass to drink every single drink out of for the rest of my life.

Also, it's supposed to be 99 degrees this weekend in Portland. In early June. So I guess that'll do, since we can't quite afford any tropical getaways!

That romper is just fabulous!!! I really wish I could pull them off because that would be mine. And who doesn't love pineapples right??? Embrace all the tropical things!

Even if you're not on a beach somewhere sipping a pina colada out of a coconut, I think that I'd still be feeling tropical and festive with any of those items that you picked! Plus anything pineapple related I'm definitely going to be all over. And yes to cold weather vacations! That would be awesome if you could plan a big trip later on!

I'd rather have a summer full of fun and memorable events then a tropical summer anyways. Lol but, a tropical vacation in the winter is a whole other story. Down with the cold, sorry... lol

Ya had me at all things tiki. I have forever wanted a pool with a tiki lounge. I love the tiki glasses--I got some at WDW the last time I was there from the Polynesian Resort! Fabulous list.
