Two years ago on this very day, Jay and I had our first dance as man and wife (or 'husband & woman'?). Not ones who regularly slow danced together in our living room, we didn't really have a song to use for this special event. As we pored over the events of our shared life and the significant moments that represented who we were as a couple in an effort to aide in that quest, we came up with a love story we deeply cherished - but one without a soundtrack.
A few conversations, boisterous laughs and walks down memory lane later - we both discerned that there could be no better representation of our relationship than the song we landed on. It was a very important movie to us the first year of our relationship and one that always reminds us of each other. And it makes us laugh. A lot. Which is my favorite thing to do with my husband. And when Jay relayed the list of songs to the DJ at our wedding and he flagged this specific one for our first dance, his rebuttal was: "This song? Are you sure? That's awesome AF, I just want to make sure."
We were sure alright. Not just about the song but about each other.
^Our first dance. I have never loved anything more. Will make me laugh my whole life.
Cheers to more laughs, love and joy in the future, my love. Thank you for doing life with me. I love you dearly. And I know, right? Sappy anniversary post, REAL ORIGINAL.
I love you forever (and a day). I've got a surprise for youuuu!
